Review: I am a new homeowner in the **** **** area. I signed for and paid for a yearly contract which entitles me for certain routine services, one which was for a summer opening of the sprinkler system, which includes an inspection to make sure everything is operational. After this was done, I was told everything was in working order. Shortly after they left, I tested the system myself, and noticed that only one set of sprinklers was working. I called for a service call, and had to wait 4 days, so why I waited, I had the rain sensor replaced to one thats made for the system. When they servicemen came (3 hour late), I was blamed for the malfunction, stating that it was because I replaced the rain sensor. However the malfunction existed right after he left the first time, and before I replaced the rain sensor. I was also told that I wouldnt have to pay for this visit. Once again after they left I retested the system, and noticed all zones worked, except one. I had to go into the inground hatch and found a wire that was disconnected which I had to repair myself, else I would be blamed for this as well and charged for this too. I repaired this, and 3 days later received a bill for the service which I was told I would not be charged for. I called the ************, and was told it was my fault because I replaced the rain sensor, and that no other houses they deal with have issues like I have. I find it appaling that a business would tell a new customer this alone, yet blame them for reasons needed for repair.Desired Settlement: I no longer wish to deal with this company, yet paid twice for repair, and for the yearly contract. Since i'm no longer using this company's service, and since they already came to open the system and inspect it, albeit not properly, the ideal outcome would be a refund of 75% of the payment for the yearly contract.
*** ******* had an opening appointment scheduled for April
**, 2014, on that date our service technician went to the property and went
through the system as per our normal opening routine.
Two days later, *** ******* called to state only the front zone was working and we set
up an appointment to go back. As this was in the middle of our peak
season the appointment was scheduled a few days out, which the contract ***
******* received and signed up for states
that appointments are to be made two weeks in advance during peak season.
The appointment was then rescheduled for a later date at the homeowners
request, when C & C Sprinkler Inc. went back there was a new moisture
sensing device installed. This device waters each zone according to the
moisture of the soil, which is set on the device
to water each zone according to the moisture level
necessary for that zone, therefore it is possible certain zones will go
on and others will not.
When our technician arrived at the home this device had
already been installed as the homeowner stated, the technician discovered the
wire for the old rain sensor was not removed. As a result, it is impossible that the system could have worked at all
because without the old rain sensor wire being removed the system would not
work at all. At that time our technician made the necessary
repairs to the wire and the homeowner was home and the technician went through the system two
times with the homeowner, at that time everything was working properly. C
& C Sprinkler Inc. does charge a service call for follow up appointments if
the error or repair necessary is not due to an error made by our
technicians. In this case *** ******* installed a moisture sensing device
on his own and as a result damaged the wire.
*** ******* again called and stated that the system was not working properly.
At that time *** ******* also stated that he had opened the box and discovered
a wire was not connected. At no time should a homeowner open or adjust parts of
the system, as stated previously, once the system has been tampered with
C & C Sprinkler Inc. can not be held responsible for the system not working
At no point in time did C & C Sprinkler Inc. refuse to go back to the homeowners
property. Also, at no point in time did C & C Sprinkler Inc. suggest
*** ******* attempt to repair or install anything for the sprinkler system on
his own. Once C & C Sprinkler Inc. leaves the property and the
homeowner alters the sprinkler system, we can not be held responsible for the
system not working properly. C & C Sprinkler Inc always gladly
schedules a service appointment to adjust/repair anything that may be
On May **, 2014 C & C Sprinkler Inc. called *** ******* to
further explain and resolve the issue and *** ******* hung up the phone and
proceeded to go online and pay the bill for the service call charge. C
& C Sprinkler Inc. has not heard from *** ******* since that date.
