on 2/18/2015 customer came in complain about intermittent no start condition on her vehicle she also stated the her check engine light came on recently.. customer was also advised that the cost to diagnose a problem is $99.95 plus fees .....

diagnosing a problem on a vehicle is an industry standard charge since we are performing services and customer pays us to perform those services. while diagnosing the intermittent no start condition on her car technician recorded a low crank signal code that was stored in her vehicle computer .. technician also removed the sensor to do a voltage check on the sensor it self to make sure the sensor was faulty. during the removal process of the sensor technician noticed that there was a flat washer/gasket stuck in between the sensor and harmonic balancer causing loss of signal. technician removed the washer reset engine code and continued testing the starting operation of her vehicle after an hour of starting and shutting it down and no codes being stored in the computer it was determined that the problem was fixed. I spoke to [redacted] about this washer and how it ended up there which was odd to me she proceeded to tell me that her family member was doing some work on her car 2 days prior we both agree that probably how that washer ended up there..[redacted] was also advised that her battery had failed a load test and needed to be serviced but she declined that service.... [redacted]s complain about this is unwarranted... also I have attached a copy of her invoice showing that she did know about diagnosing charge and she was fully aware of the cause .. this vehicle may or may not have had a bad starter but at the time of our testing the only issue we found that that crack sensor signal being blocked .
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 12, 2015/04/08) */
I left a message with [redacted] asking for extra time to respond. I want to respond by saying that I have no knowledge of being given any invoice or idea that I would be charged for the diagnosing charge. I didn't hear anything like that from him either. He said he has an invoice that shows I did know but I don't have anything like that. All I have is the receipt charging me. If there is some proof I was informed I was going to be charged, I would like to see it. Thank you.
