Ever since the purchase of my first laptop I have been taking them to A+ Computers for any service or repairs that might be needed. This, I have recently learned, was a big mistake. I took my first computer to A+ computers to get a new hard drive installed, upon its return the internal speakers would not function as well as the USB ports. I asked them if it could possibly be anything that they had done and they told me that it must have been a previous problem and that they had done nothing to the unit that would have compromised their operation. I find this to be a little odd due to the fact that they worked prior to them working on my laptop.
My second complaint involves a complete lack of knowledge about computers in general by the employees working behind the counter. I took my ASUS Zenbook in to find a new charging cable and I was told that they did not have a cable that would work in stock, They then informed me that they could get me one by special ordering one for $80. I agreed and payed for the cable. After waiting three weeks for them to call I was informed that the cable had arrived. I went in with my laptop to test it and found that not only would the cable not fit it would not charge my laptop. So as a final stab at seeming like someone who was compitant in his field, the kid behind the counter decided to give me a universal charger that "might work". After testing it on my laptop we both found that it didnt fit, but if it was positioned correctly it would provide my laptop with a charge. I decided to buy the charger out of desperation and decided to not return to A+ Computers for any further service to my computers.
Having struck out at A+ Computers I decided to look through Best Buy for a universal charger that might work better than the one I had previously obtained. It literally took me one try with one of the universal charger kits to find one that not only fit, but charged my laptop without any problem at all.
