Review: I went to ABF Auto & Towing, in Plum, PA to have my transmission replaced. On April 3, 2013 I wrote a check to [redacted] for $800.00 for him to buy a rebuilt transmission to install in my car. Mr. [redacted] said he would also charge me $600.00 for service. When I picked up my car on June 20--note that ABF Auto had my car for two-and-a-half months--Mr. [redacted] said that the car might sound and feel a little odd because the right front brake needed to be repaired. My car stalled, went in and out of gear, lurched forward when I accelerated, made a grinding noise when I turned, and barely made it up hills. I had the front brakes repaired to eliminate them as a contributing cause, but the problems continued. I called PNC Bank to dispute the $250 of the service fee I had put on my VISA card. PNC said to get a written second vendor opinion from a reputable transmission repair service, which I got from Aamco, and which is copied below (the original report is also uploaded to this site). PNC read Aamco's report, decided to proceed with my claim, and credited my VISA for the $250.00. Aamco reported: CAR WAS DIAGNOSED WITH SPEED SENSOR CODE, OXYGEN SENSOR CODES. VISUAL INSPECTION REVEALED POWER STEERING LINE ROUTED WRONG, CAUSING STEERING GROWL AND INEVITABLE HYDRAULIC FAILURE FRONT CORNER OF TRANSMISSION PAN CAVED IN CASUSING TRANS LEAK, CASE COULD ALSO POSSIBLY BE DAMAGED. CAR HAS SEVERE RUST DAMAGE ALONG ROCKER PANELS AND FRONT BRAKE BACKING PLATES. THERE IS NO WAY THIS CAR WILL PASS A REAL INSPECTION. TRANS SHIFT POINT IRRATIC. TRANS SHOULD BE REPLACED. CAR WAS INSPECTED IN MARCH 2013THERE IS NO WAY THIS CAR SHOULD HAVE BEEN PASSED."I sent Mr. [redacted] this report and a letter demanding a refund by certified mail, which the delivery receipt shows that he signed for on 7-17-2013. He has not replied.Desired Settlement: I want ABF Auto to immediately refund the remainder of the money I paid him: the $800 I paid by check, plus the $350 I paid in cash, for a total of $1,150.00.

Review: I got my car towed to ABF Auto for repair and they told me I need to replace my fuel pump and they asked me to pay $385 upfront to order the part which I did pay and they promised to get the job done in 2 days, then they kept delaying the car like everyday beside the very bad attitude with me whenever I call to ask about my car, then eventually when they got the car done and gave back to me, they got $100 for labor but my car's engine was messed up and the car wasn't acting right at all and when I talked to them they said it isn't their responsiblity but I know my car wasn't acting like that before at all, and when I asked them for the old part they refused to give it back to me and they refused to give a receipt as well. I took the car to [redacted] repair shop to know what's wrong with my car and they found out that someone has replaced my spark plugs and coils recently but they were all defected and that's why my car was messed up and they gave me an estimated cost of$950 to get fixed. considering that my car was in [redacted] about 10 days before it broke down for oil change and they did 29 inspection point for my car and everything was okay.Desired Settlement: The least that repair shop can do for me is to pay for the damage they did in my car according to the invoice issued by [redacted] for all the parts that I had to replace due to the defected parts they put in my car and wasn't part of the job that I took my car to them for. The cost for those parts is $950 including labor too.
