 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
The fact that our driveway was shared with our next door neighbor was specifically raised by my husband  in asking whether the quote we had received covered the entire driveway or just our half.  When told the latter, my husband indicated he would check with our neighbor to ensure that this was acceptable and would call back with confirmation.   Mr. B[redacted]'s comment that "...he (Mr. [redacted]) did not mention a shared section" is most disappointing to put in the most charitable of terms.
There was no discussion as to what defined our "separate" driveways and no physical markings were drawn to indicate  the division. Our complaint is that the term "pipestem" was introduced only after we called after returning from a trip to ask whether the rain we knew had occurred had stopped the  job from being completed. Everyone on our street shares a driveway.  It is called a "shared driveway" and all of us have had our driveway estimates done with the cost of the entire driveway divided between the two neighbors. We simply feel that Academy Sealers should recognize there is a difference between a shared driveway and a pipestem and should be clear with the customer  up front.  No one is interested in seeing lines dividing a portion of their shared driveway from another portion, with half of the combined surface area untouched.  Since homeowners have their driveways sealed every few years, we feel that a reliable company in the business of sealing driveways every day should train their employees properly to make appropriate estimates and anticipate questions and concerns with a driveway such as ours. We feel that we have been subjected to false advertisement and both ourselves and our neighbors have been greatly inconvenienced by this "misunderstanding"   It is particularly disingenuous of Academy Sealers to not leave a separate quote for a "Pipestem",  if they insist on making such distinctions, before leaving unsolicited quotes for  services as they did with us and our neighbors.     It is also disingenous to first leave a combined estimate of $148, and then upon being questioned, providing an estimate for $300 for the unfinished portion, when that unfinished portion represents less surface area than the portion that was sealed.  We hope that in sharing our concerns, Academy Sealers' service will improve so no one experiences the same treatment.   This is the first time  that I  have  ever raised a complaint with the Revdex.com and it is partly because of the disrespect exhibited in raising  a legitimate concern with the company that I  am doing so .
