Well I got an estimate for 2000 square feet of spray foam in the estimate was 12000 dollars I then received the bill which is exactly the same as the estimate saying that it was approximately 2000 square feet when actuality I agree put back the roof with the roofers myself and only used 40 sheets of plywood that are 32 square feet each. 12000 / 2000 square feet is $6 a foot. 40 sheets of plywood at 32 square feet per piece is 1280 square feet of actual square footage but I'm being charged for 2000 square feet 700 square foot difference and no adjustments on the bill
Billing Adjustment Pay for only square footage actually done and not for the 700 mysterious square piece that showed up on Bill
1. We did not nor would we ever quote a job like this (with this much complexity) by the sq ft. The customer was quoted based on the job and that alone. At no time did we ever provide a "price per sq ft" or lead him to believe that there would be any relationship to price and sq ft.
This project was extremely complex requiring significant labour costs (5 workers on site), out of town travel fees, planning, covering and prep work, clean up in addition to material. For those reasons it cannot be priced by the sq ft. We would never quote a job like this by the sq ft and the customer's estimate was provided as a flat fee based on this.
2. We have tried NUMEROUS times to contact this customer in order to have a discussion so that we could reach a mutually amicable resolution. We have even offered to reduce the agreed upon price to account for his concern in order to come to a resolution. He will not even contact us back.
Why wouldn't you contact the company back who is trying to come to a solution who has offered to provide some cost savings? Unless the desired outcome is something different.
Advanced Insulation Inc. has an impeccable reputation for both quality, honesty and reliable service. We are doing all we reasonably can in order to rectify this situation but unfortunately this customer will not cooperate.
We stand by our account of the events. If this customer thinks they can decide what things cost and that they know more about how to price a project this than us then we cannot go anywhere from here.
As mentioned this customer will not even engage in conversation. Will not answer any messages. We will proceed to legal.
Advanced Insulation has created an environmental and esthetic mess of a major boulevard.
January 9th, 2018 Advanced Insulation working on an insulation project at *** covered the street and properties with spray foam insulation. The mess was distributed up to 150 yards away. It blanketed porches, front lawns, and the boulevards. It will not melt with the spring and poses an environmental hazard. Attempts to speak with contractors and managers yielded no results.
Complete removal of all affected areas, and removal of contaminating containers from the street.
Advanced Insulation takes quality and work very seriously. We have an excellent reputation for quality, attention to detail and safety.
We certainly apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused anyone.
We were vacuuming out fiberglass attic insulation into an enclosed bin and it seems that some insulation blew out of the bin due to the wind. Once discovered our installers did what they could to clean up the mess but this is a construction site and there will always be debris associated with construction.
There is no spray foam involved whatsoever so I am not sure where that comes from and I can assure you that none of this material is hazardous in any way. The bin has been removed from the site already. We performed a site visit today and we do not see any debris anywhere except a small amount on the site in question. This material is extremely light and is made up of very small fibers that blow away in the wind. We can certainly re visit the area in the spring once dry and see if any further clean up is warranted but due to the snow there is no sign of any material to be cleaned up.
Again, we apologize for any inconvenience.
An attempt was made to call our office however when management attempted to answer there was no one on the line.
