We have been working with this customer for several weeks trying to find the source of what appears to be interference near this location This customer provides vertical real estate for our service and receives service at no charge along with rent payments in consideration for our using his vertical real estate Several weeks ago, we noticed service degradation and have struggled to find the root cause Because of GPS devices in the area being used in the Agriculture industry, we suspect the interference is coming from one of these devices, but we cannot substantiate its cause We further suspect the interference is coming from a frequency hopping device which makes finding its source even more difficult because the frequency hopping makes the interference even more sporadic Frequency hopping equipment changes frequencies often in order to avoid interference with other devices Unfortunately, this type of equipment is not available for broadcasting Internet signals from a tower The proliferation of wireless devices has made finding and resolving these situations ever more difficult Interference sources could be anything from a GPS device mentioned earlier to a weather monitoring station to a wireless telephone handset to a baby monitor or many other similar devices Due to the rise of these types of wireless devices, even the smallest amount of interference can cause big problems.We have visited this location on many occasions as recently as yesterday (10/7) in an attempt to find a solution to this problem We are now planning to install a new antenna at this location in an attempt to isolate the source of interference and resolve the issue Unfortunately, this takes time and causes frustration for our customers We are constantly monitoring this situation and are aware of the problem We don't want our customers to have a bad experience but sometimes the fix is not that easy We suspect that when farming is done for the season and farm equipment is no longer using GPS systems in their operation, the issue will subside However, we are also looking at a long-term solution as well.Again - these situations are very difficult to diagnose as there are many devices that could be the cause We always do our best and sometimes that still does not fix the situation If we are unable to find the source of this interference, we may be forced to decommission the equipment in this area as we don't want to provide a service that is not acceptable to our customers We will continue to look for a solution if one is available
