We did moved to Venice Florida from Cape Coral and needed a roof, I called several companies for prices and found AKVM on google, called met Ben and he had me from the beginning, very professional, he matched the line of roof that my community has to the line of shingles he has ( better quality), we signed and he was calling all the time to ask if we need anything also and in 2 days my roof was done, no problems no mess, no overcharge, They offered me a $300 wood work included on the price and a free wind mitigation inspection with the price, we had it all, Ben called and did a final inspection with us to make sure that we were happy with the work, I will recommend this company a 100% and I do sale real estate for 20 years and did more the 20 roofs with different companies.
I am thrilled with my new TPO roof! Ben F is very knowledgeable and spent a lot of time with me going over my options and answering all of my questions. He and the owner gave me the best deal possible and sent out very qualified and professional workers. Victor and his team did an amazing job! I can easily recommend AKVM for any of your roofing needs!
Rewrote the contract after we accepted the contract dated 1/3/2020 stating a price increase across the board as of the first of the year. Last I knew January 3rd is after January 1st. However after questioning they pointed out the new contract also changed to say any sheeting would be replaced soley at their discretion which could be an open checkbook. I said fine but I want every sheet retained at my residence for my inspection and they said no they would take pictures. He then agreed. 30 minutes later Ben called back and said the owner does not want or need my kind of business. I didn't change the price or the contract THEY did. Be wary of low price dishonest representation that gets mad if you ask questions.
At AKVM Roofing, we are happy to do business with anybody that is looking for quality roofing services at a fair price.
From time to time, our standard approach regarding the disposition of damaged roof sheathing and jobsite cleanup is not understood by customers and they insist upon special procedures that will set their minds at ease. Putting a replacement roof on a house is a business negotiation that leads to a contractual agreement. In no way is the customer restrained from requesting special conditions or extra levels of care as part of the process but requesting additional considerations outside of our normal procedures changes the terms of the proposal under discussion. No business agreement is final until both parties agree upon the terms and you changed the terms of the proposal offered. We reserve the right to then further modify the terms and pricing in our proposal when customers demand services or an approach outside of our standard re-roof installation practices. In this case, the senior management did not approve the most recent changes the sales rep had prepared in response to your requests as it was too difficult and too outside of our normal policy to comply with. What you were requesting had significant safety issues (sheathing left at ground level), it also potentially put us in a position to not comply with building codes (which we strictly adhere to) and most importantly was pointless in that you as a homeowner have no role to play legally in the decision of what sheathing should or should not be replaced. The only person that can definitively decide if the sheathing is in full readiness for a replacement roof is 100% in the eyes of the building inspector. Our understanding after 100s of successful roof replacements as to what comprises damaged sheathing in the eyes of the city inspector is why we as a standard practice replace all damaged sheathing. Your insistence that you, as a customer who is untrained in roofing inspection and repair, provide judgement on the matter regarding what is good and what is bad in an effort to save money is frankly, immaterial. We simply can't let your opinions, driven by desire to cut costs jeopardize the faith inspectors have in our work.
There was never an agreement between you and AKVM Roofing. There was a proposal that you constantly picked over that upon review by our management we did not agree to. While we know this is upsetting to you, the fact remains we did not agree with your terms, we saw no way around your demands and chose not to finalize an agreement, as is our right.
We wish you the best in the future and hope you understand that as a business we have a right to agree to undertake projects just as you have a right to not accept a proposal that is offered to you. It is our hope you can accept the situation as it actually is and we leave each other on friendly terms.
Sir, if I need to enclose YOUR emails and quotes to prove that YOU changed the contract after you received notification of acceptance from us. YOU increased the price by 3% across the board on the contract stating your boss demanded an increase as of January 1, 2020. YOUR original quote was dated January 3, 2020, which is after January 1st. Your signed proposal was accepted without any request for change by us, and then YOU changed the contract opening up discussions that were based upon my questions pertaining to YOUR changes in the agreement. You are a bait and switch low balling company that hopes to gain its customers through improper business tactics. All should stay clear of businesses like yours and then these tactics will cease.
We are sorry that you are frustrated, but the fact remains that as a contractor we have a right to change proposals as necessary if the customer demands add-ons not addressed in our original proposals. The vast majority of our proposals are accepted by both parties without change and everything runs smoothly as originally written. However, in your case, you requested changes in the original proposal that are not normally part of our work that also added potential safety and regulatory problems - which we can't allow. We are well within our rights to change the proposal under those circumstances as well as when they are over 30 days old. While we tried very hard to reach have an accepted agreement between us, the fact is we did not sign an agreement nor collect any money. We understand you are unhappy and feel badly about that. We just want you to know that sometimes a company just can't agree to all the terms that people request, especially when they are outside of our normal procedures or create problems in the way we do our work. There was never an attempt to bait and switch, that is an unfair and inaccurate characterization of this situation. We choose to leave this matter as is and wish you the best.
Again, nothing was requested changed in anyway when we accepted your proposal which was accepted within the 30 day timeframe. You upped the price and made the changes to the proposal which prompted my questions you refer to, all your fast talk to confuse future potential customers into believing you were not at fault is clearly visible. This company continues its blatant lies and I have and will retain this proof for review by interested parties. Stay clear of this company
AKVM Replaced my roof and did an excellent job. I was very impressed with the quality and work. I recommend them to anyone that needs a new roof in the area. They are great!
