Dear [redacted], This letter is in response to the complaint filed against Alavi Law, PLLC for services rendered.1. The client signed a retainer agreement for $7,000.00 in June of 2013 and made a deposit into the escrow account of $3,500.00

started the legal research and process for his immigration claim and had a considerable amount of emails and meetings with the client from June until December of 2013 when I received the email from the client that he would like to withdraw representation.3. I have enclosed an invoice that I sent the client when he requested to withdraw our services.
4. Our office was very conservative on the hours spent on this case in the six months we were retained.
5. Both [redacted] and myself met with him on at least 5 different occasions and each time in excess of 60 minutes. As you will see on the invoice we billed him for a fraction of the time spent. 
6. Our office was working on an Immigration Work Visa (-B) for the client, however, the client continued to change his employer making it difficult to work on his case as we would have to start from square one every time he changed his employer.
7. As you will notice we billed for a fraction of the time spent on his case and refunded him the portion of the unused funds.
8. Our office has never had a complaint in the 6 years of operation and we take these complaints very seriously as they reflect negatively upon our reputation. 
9. Our office went out of our way on every occasion for this client, meeting him when we requested, responded to his numerous emails in a timely fashion.10. Our office had no obligation to refund any of the funds as they were all earned at the time of withdraw but out of courtesy to the client we decided to issue a refund for a portion of the funds paid.
