Alister & Paine Magazine Reviews (2)

On November *, 2014 we responded to [redacted]'s concerns via email. Below is our response. Please note that as a magazine of integrity, we will not be bullied into reviewing products or services which we...

consider to be inferior for our target demographic. We have offered to return the products and [redacted] was not interested.

Hi [redacted],
Thanks for reaching out, we're happy to discuss the issue with the Revdex.com.
The products you sent for review were simply inferior for our audience and if you provide a [redacted] account number I'm happy to have them sent back to you if they haven't already been destroyed. I will direct you to our Tried & True editorial policy which stresses that we only publish editorials about products we've personally vetted and approved as well as Article III of our User Agreement which reinforces this policy as well as how we dispose of solicited and unsolicited press samples, absent a Loan Agreement (which does not exist in this case, nor would it make sense).
I still feel like the high quality letter press samples would have made sense, and we requested those samples, but you did not want to send them. Instead, samples were sent that were on par with stationary similar to the quality anyone could pick up at a Target or similar store. Our readers are high-net-worth individuals and are looking for products of a higher, unparalleled, quality--which is why you did not make the cut.
Thank you for participating and we wish you the best of luck with the Stationary Studio.

Review: [redacted] of Alister & Paine reached out to me on July *, 2014 regarding an article she was working on for their Business Column. She said she would like to review letterpress stationery and an embosser in exchange for a review. Per her words, "We write everything based on experience, never press releases, so every product or service we endorse we've vetted ourselves. All we'd need to get started would be to create a few different products to review (ideally a customized embossed seal and approx 500 Thank You cards) so we can publish a dedicated The Stationary Store editorial about the entire process. We'd like to get started ASAP and schedule the piece for publication within two weeks of receiving product."

We agreed to this review and sent her the products. I have followed up with her through email and phone with no response to when this review will be done. I have also reached out to [redacted], the magazine's founder and redirected me to [redacted]. I did follow up with him stating that in fact he would be involved because the letterpress stationery and embosser had his name on it. I also sent an invoice so they could pay for these products if they no longer intend on using them for a review. I have not received any reply to any of those emails. I did inform the company today that I will be filing a complaint with the Revdex.com.Desired Settlement: Either to write the review as agreed upon or pay the invoice for the product costs.
