I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

He has made up this story.  He never told me all that stuff he is telling you he did. I was calling him on a regular basis asking about my phone. His responce was always " the part has'nt come in yet". Then After all this time went by He began to say "this is an old ticket, lots of time went by" as if it's my fault.

Review: I gave them a cell phone for Repair. The charger port didn't work, the phone would not charge.

He told me He can fix it.

He asked and received an advanced payment of $25.

I came back one week later.

He told me it was fixed, handed me the phone and requested an additional $10.

I noticed the phones' battery indicator showed an extra bar or two.

I asked and he provided a charger to check to make sure it is working.

IT DID NOT WORK. He said "it was charging" as he jiggaled the wire plug.

Then he said come back in a week.

I came back a week later. The phone was not fixed.

He said he will have to order the part and will call me when its ready.

I called and was told "the part has to be ordered from China, I'll call you when its ready".

What followed for the next several months was agony, each time I called, the same responce. And he added saying"the Part is stuck in Customs".

It's been 7 months now and he is now telling me he cannot find the phone.Desired Settlement: Repaired, money refunded or, if lost, new phone.

Response:

Client ([redacted]) has left the boost phone for repair with following problem: phone not powering up.

[redacted] also mentioned that phone was not charging and paid $25 for bench charge which is NOT REFUNDABLE. I disassembled the phone and noticed a loose connection at the junction between the main board and the DC charging port as a result of heavy use. After soldering the DC charging port, I tested the phone and saw that it was properly charging. After fully charging the battery I called [redacted] and told him that he can pay an additional $10 and pick up his phone. When [redacted] arrived I gave him his phone and my charger to check the phone. The phone was on but the indicator was not showing any signs of charging. I told [redacted] to wait for my call because I had to open the phone again to see what was going on. After I disassembled the phone I saw that all resoldering was still intact so logically I presumed that the port itself had a problem too and needed to be replaced. Usually in cases like these we replace the main board but it is very costly and [redacted] was not interested in spending more money. To save money for the client I ordered DC charging port from China (cost-$6). Part got delivered in late December, 2013. After spending almost 1 hour to replace the port which is very hard because port has 5 tiny legs, that have to be soldered to the main board, are very close to each other and connections on the main board were already so loose from previous heavy use. After it was finished the phone still would not charge. The only way to fix it would be to replace the main board and as I said client was not interested in that. I made quite a few attempts to bring that bad news to [redacted] but was not able to reach him at the phone number he left. He contacted me in late May 2014 and wanted to get his $25 and the phone back. I told him $25 is not refundable which states on the huge sign in the store. Phone was in storage back then but now it is in the store. He may come and collect his phone at any time.
