The Toilet 4000 Cadet is IMPOSSIBLE to fix. The fill valve has exploded and there is no way to access underneath the tank to remove the nut holding the fill valve on. I called customer service and was told to put vinegar in the tank - it wasn't a joke he was serious. I did it. Of course it did not work. I have a disabled husband who needs to be able to use his toilet and he is unable to. In addition he was in a head on collision with broken ribs, broken back, fractured pelvis and is unable to use his bathroom because NO ONE can fix this toilet. I even bought a special tool but it still is unable to reach the nut. This design needs to be REMOVED from all sales. This should not be allowed on the market ever.
I had previously written a negative review of AS involving a failed water heater. the heater was replaced, but due to the short amount of time between installation and failure I felt that they should cover the installation charges for the new heater even though the warranty only covered parts. after several phone calls and emails, they agreed to cover the charges, which I appreciate.
Good morning my name is ***.. I am a American Standard customer and I am very unhappy with the way I’ve been treated by American Standard.. The first insult was the racist worker that was sent to my home to initially do the work.. He refused to install the shower, so at this point I did not want to continue business with the company.. However I was told that this would not happen again so I went ahead with it because of *** who was is a really nice person.. On the day that the gentlemen came out to our home to install the shower for my mother who is 84, she and I where sick that day but did not want to postpone so I let the work continue.. Now in order for them to the job they had to check the water in the bathroom and then turn the water off in the house.. Once they were done they turned the water back on but did not turn of the faucet in the sink and this caused a massive flood in the upstairs bathroom of our home which in turn caused a big hole in our ceiling, water damage to the wood, walls, and carpet. In addition to all that, the quality of the materials used for the shower as well the installation work was done poorly and this was not was I was promised or shown by American Standard as being quality work.. So at this point I spoke with a gentlemen for American Standard and asked to be refunded and requested that someone come pick up the materials left by the company.. I was then threatened with a lean on my home and was told that this would be a breach of contract. All I wanted was a quality product where my elderly mother would be able to wash comfortably.. The way I was handled by American Standard was unethical and frankly unelectable.. I just wanted my mother to be happy in her remaining years. My intentions are not cause in trouble but to the treatment I have received from American Standard I have no choice but to report this issue to the Revdex.com.. I went with American Standard because of *** who is a wonderful human being. She was the only person who I talked with in American Standard that was honest with me throughout the entire process. I just want American Standard to come get there materials and refund my money.. I emailed American Standard in reference to the issue and this is hat was said in return:
Gentlemen,
#***. I sold this deal 9/23/2019. When the initial installers went to install a shower they said rude and wrong things and the customer heard them. So management cancelled the install.
Then a few weeks later *** said he saved the deal and he called *** (***) to tell him we found installer to do the job.
This is where we are now. Job has not been completed in a timely matter. There has been a leak in the ceiling (I sent those pictures to all of you) and mildew and smell is horrible.
This customer has not taken a bath in 7 years, I worked very hard to get them funded. I did accomplish this and they were very happy for this elderly woman.
Now 3 MONTHS
Purchased a very expensive toilet several years ago made by American Standard. The toilet is an Antiquity One-Piece Elongated Toilet model number 2038.016.222. This unique design for the $***.*** toilet requires a unique toilet seat. I was not informed of this and no off the shelf toilet seat will fit this American Standard toilet. I called American Standard and they said, "you can google the toilet seat as this toilet is discontinued". My toilet functions perfectly fine, however there is no solution to the proper fit of a toilet seat that American Standard sold. My complaint is that I am now solely responsible to jury rig a toilet seat for this expensive toilet or replace the perfectly functioning toilet because it has no seat. Can a car manufacturer sell a car with absolute tires? As soon as the car tires are bad, there are no manufactured replacement tires to put on the car, so what good is the car. I feel there needs to be some concern from American Standard to the consumers that spend well above the average price for this toilet.
With the volume of toilets made and sold by American Standard, there must be someone who is concerned about the consumer who purchased this expensive toilet, knowing that toilet seats need to be replaced.
The installers for American Standards improperly installed my unit, especially the built in safety seat, and it has never been safe for me to sit on it. I need the seat for my own safety, as I am physically disabled. I have made contact with American Standard on numerous occasions, just to be told, "we're working on it"! I bought the unit in March of this year, paying $***. And I am still waiting for a resolution. Help, please!

In February 2008 my wife and I ordered an American Standard 'Saver' bathtub, surround and doors. The unit was professionally installed in May 2018 and we have had problems since. The design of how the surround meets the tub is horrible and means any small amount of pressure on the surround splits the silicone.
Beyond this, we have had leaks between the sliding doors and the tub ever since it was installed. There is no lip on the tub so any movement splits the silicone and we have leaks on the floor. Our contractor has resealed this and so have I multiple times and it continues to leak. It has now leaked past the silicone at the base of the tub and it starting to curl our vinyl flooring. The doors on the unit squeak like crazy also.
I've now sent multiple emails (3-4) through the American Standard website regarding these problems and wanting some kind of support and I haven't even receieved so much as an acknowledgement to even one of them! The quality of this set is poor, and the customer support is even more poor.
Due to the leaks, damaged flooring and mould between the tub and the doors due to standing water, this set is coming out and being replaced with something of better quality. I will be requiring to pay a significant labour cost which I will not hold American Standard responsible for however I will provide my proof of purchase and will require a full refund for each piece of this 3 piece set .

I e-mailed American Standard asking if the 7413508.295 shower valve and trim kit had the California Prop 65 warning or not. They never responded.
