I have a patient for over a year. I do not have insurance but have a discount program which helps my out of pocket costs. I have had to get periodontal cleaning done which are extremely costly. I opted out of the antibiotics considering they were charging me about $2k not including my cleaning. My follow up was scheduled after three months and I was emailed a quote for an $87 visit. Again due to me having to budget my expenses I budgeted the amount quoted. When I came in for my appointment and being the first patient in the building I waited 10 minutes before the office manager called me to the front counter and told me my visit was $168. I asked why and she said it was a process and she would discuss further but I had to pay at that moment which I did. I was at this point annoyed because This was the second time I was quoted incorrectly and then came in to a much higher bill. I went in for my visit and after looking at my teeth I was told my teeth did well without the antibiotic however I needed one on my tooth which was $120 out of pocket.. I chose to skip this as I was not financially able to pay for the service. After the service I sat down with the office manager and requested a. complete bill of my services. While she gathered that I showed her the email of what I was quoted with pricing. She printed out my services and explained to me a lot of things had mistakenly not been added to my quote emailed. I explained my situation and how it was not the first time it had been done. I was put in a position where not paid for half a day of work to attend my appointment and then being charged double what I was quoted. She could care less about my situation and didn't even apologize which after being in customer service for 14 yrs that the first thing you should do. I referred my friend when I first started going and she winded switching dentists and even had a confrontation with the office manager because her quote was inaccurate due to not including her insurance. I am more unsatisfied with how they have no compassion for people who have to budget. They simply expect you to pay or cancel and do nothing to assist you when it's THEIR mistake. After being a consistent patient and spending well over $2k I would just appreciate a little more appreciation and empathy. I have decided to switch dentists and also refer my friends to my new dentist. it's a shame because I loved the dentist their but the office manager has to go.

I am writing to request a refund of services received vs. someone who had insurance, 1/15/19; and an apology for Aspen Dental in being deceitful and turning over my issue to a collection agency
- Sent letter to Aspen Dental 7/9/19 without a response
- Aspen Dental turned over balance due to a collection agency
- Received numerous calls and correspondence from collection agency
- I paid the balance 1/15/19 and Aspen Dental charged for me $135 for services after the fact
- I left a voice mail message with Aspen Dental on 1/11/20 and they did not return my call
- Explained situation to Collection Agency 1/13/20 and received no response from Aspen Dental

Desired Outcome

Billing adjust and refund of monies. Staff was deceitful in leading me to believe I had insurance for services. I want an apology for not answering my letter and phone call; and for Aspen Dental turning over to a collection agency.

In response to the complaint by Mr. M., the dental office removed the $135.00 balance as a courtesy on February 14, 2020. His Aspen Dental account now reflects a zero balance due. All billing and collection activity has ceased. If Mr. has any questions he can reach out to the Aspen Dental Office Manager, Beth Chavez at (XXX) XXX-XXXX (option 2) and she will be happy to speak with him.

The did not answer all my complaints.
1. Refund in the difference of servicers received
2. Apology

I find they lack any remorse or customer service. Aspen Dental wants me to reach out to them again if I continue to have questions? I will try and I hope they will answer the phone and/or return my phone call this time.

One last comment, will they send correspondence to all the credit agencies rectifying in listing billing error with a credit collection company?
