As clearly stated on the invoice, [redacted] ’s starter was given a month/12,mile warranty, not a lifetime warranty that she has incorrectly reported to the Revdex.com Instead of repeating myself, please re-read my initial response that addresses [redacted] ’s concern and the concessions given to her to remedy her complaint In short, when [redacted] returned to my shop in 2015, her repair was unfortunately well out of warranty by over a year However, with the hope of maintaining good customer relations, I decided to make two concessions First, I performed the repair at a reduced labor rate Second, I went out of my standard warranty policy and gave her a lifetime warranty on the starter replacement Other than taking $off her starter repair and offering a lifetime warranty (parts and labor) on the starter currently in her Accord, nothing more can reasonably be done

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted] , and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because: I did have work done on my car back in and as you can see on the bill for a NEW STARTER was put in my vehicle..new is new and it was with a life time warranty on the starter as per Mike at Mikes MechanicI wanted New on the starter so I paid for NEW!!!! Little did I know that this guy put a rebuilt starter in my car and charged me for what I wanted NEW STARTER I would not be filing a claim if this place did from the beginning I had the same problem years later as I did in now the car is back and I am told there was a rebuilt starter put in from the dateI don't care what this guy is saying I wanted new from the start never got it and now it has cost me 2x the amount for what I wantedThis time he claims he put in a NEW starter but who knows I will not find out until I start having problemsI assumed my car starter problems were done when I had and paid for a NEW starter back in I should have never been charged for this job if it was done right from Sincerely, [redacted]

I hope I never ever have to return to Mikes Mechanics againI'm hoping that a NEW starter was placed in my car this time as my complaint is I was told and paid for a NEW STARTER back in 2013....and a rebuilt starter was put in my vehicleI should have not been charged for a NEW starter if you placed a rebuilt which would have been 100.00...at the time...if you take a look at my receipts from I was charged for a new starter which I wanted in the vehicle and now in I was charged another for another new starter..I only hope I have a NEW STARTER in my car now which I have been over paid for as I will never recommend Mikes to anyone...My complaint is I was over charged for a Starter that was reconditioned and I was told it was New and charged at a New price... I thought the Revdex.com would be the place to get this straightened out but it seems like it's all for the business and not for the consumer!!I only hope that the car now has a New Starter in it as I paid enough for itIf I do have starter problems with the vehicle anymore there will be issues with this business and will see to it that something is legally done
Sincerely,

As clearly stated on the invoice, [redacted]’s 2013 starter was given a 12 month/12,000 mile warranty, not a lifetime warranty that she has incorrectly reported to the Revdex.com.  Instead of repeating myself, please re-read my initial response that addresses [redacted]’s concern and the concessions given to her to remedy her complaint.  In short, when [redacted] returned to my shop in 2015, her 2013 repair was unfortunately well out of warranty by over a year.  However, with the hope of maintaining good customer relations, I decided to make two concessions.  First, I performed the 2015 repair at a reduced labor rate.  Second, I went out of my standard warranty policy and gave her a lifetime warranty on the 2015 starter replacement.   Other than taking $95 off her 2015 starter repair and offering a lifetime warranty (parts and labor) on the starter currently in her 2003 Accord, nothing more can reasonably be done.

Prior to receiving this complaint, I proactively took action on two counts to resolve my customer’s concern when she picked up her vehicle on November **, 2015. What her complaint to the Revdex.com does not state is that when she had her vehicle recently towed to my shop, and it was...

determined that her initial starter had failed, she was told that unfortunately the repair done to her vehicle two years ago was out of warranty as it is clearly indicated on her invoice, “12 month/12,000 mile warranty.” Customer satisfaction has always been my priority for the past 30+ years; I take pride in that when customers leave my shop, they are happy and satisfied with the work I have done. Even though the repair done two years ago was clearly out of warranty, I hoped to resolve the matter fairly and quickly, hoping to maintain good relations with my customer [redacted]. To do so I offered two concessions. First, instead of charging her the two hours it normally takes to replace the starter in her vehicle, I charged her for only one. Second, I went out of my standard warranty policy, and gave her a lifetime warranty on the second starter put in her car so that she will never have to worry again about having another problem with a starter as long as she owns this vehicle.
