Mr. [redacted] filed a complaint regarding a gift certificate that was purchased for his wife forChristmas. According to the customer it was misplaced. Auto Effects requires ALL customers to keeptheir original receipt and gift certificate upon purchase. We have absolutely no record in our...

systemreferencing to Mr. [redacted]’s purchase in our store that he is claiming to have made. The product heis claiming to have purchased is no longer available in our inventory and is something we no longeroffer. We gave Mr. [redacted] several different options as to how we could help him solve this matterin which he declined all offers. We offered to give him a new product that is similar to the old producthe is claiming to have bought a gift certificate for free of charge. He would just have to buy theadditional module needed in order to make the product operate with his vehicle that costs $80. Hedeclined. Even if the customer DID in fact purchase that gift certificate for that product he would STILLhave to purchase the $80 module because the product he purchased is no longer being distributed andthe new product that is comparable to the old product requires a module just as the old product wouldhave. In Mr. [redacted]’s statement he said he offered to pay the difference between the giftcertificate and the newer product, that is false. Auto Effects did not refuse. We were and [redacted] still willingto help him in any way that we can and he has not been cooperative. We will not give Mr. [redacted] arefund being that we have absolutely no record that a gift certificate was ever purchased. We are a veryreputable business who has been in business for many years. We have made a name for ourselves andwe take pride in our customer service. Mr. [redacted] is more than welcome to pay for the newmodule that is required. If he does not want to then that is fine but we have done our very best to meethim half way and make this as much of an enjoyable experience as possible for not only Mr. [redacted]but for all of our customers.Best Regards,Ryan H[redacted]Auto Effects Owner

Review: I purchased a gift certificate for my wife for Christmas. It was misplaced. I tried to have the business look up the record of sale and they said they could not do so. We spoke to the business via phone and he would not give us credit claiming the money was taken from his account via some kind of accounting procedure. We offered to pay the difference between the gift certificate and the newer product. The business refused.Desired Settlement: I no longer trust this business and do not want to do business with them. I desire a refund.

Review: I called Auto Effects to make an appointment to get an automatic starter put in my wife's car. The man that I spoke with on the phone told me I had to pay a $100 deposit to hold my appointment. He NEVER told me that it was non refundable if I had to cancel my appointment. It also DOES NOT say anywhere on their website that the deposits are non refundable. I agreed to the $100 deposit (never being informed that it was non refundable) and decided to just have them put the full amount for the starter on my credit card as well. I ended up having to cancel the appointment and the man on the phone asked if I was going to reschedule. When I told him no, not at that time, he told me that he would refund everything EXCEPT the $100 deposit. I said that would have been fine IF I had been informed when I made the appointment that it was non refundable OR AT LEAST have it on your website. He said "sorry, that's our policy and there is no way we can refund your $100. If I would have known it was non refundable, I would have NEVER made the appointment in the first place knowing I might have to cancel it. I was so upset that I went to Auto Effects in person and spoke with the manager. He argued with me even after I told him I was never informed that the $100 deposit was non refundable and I complained that it wasn't on their website. Since I made such a big deal, he said he would make an exception and gave me a $100 gift certificate to use at Auto Effects. The reason I am so upset is because they didn't make their policy clear. And after all of this fuss, they will NEVER get my business. I have this gift certificate sitting on my desk and I will never use it. I wasted $100 and got nothing for it.Desired Settlement: I would like to return my gift certificate for $100 and get my $100 put back on my credit card that was charged.

Response:

Concerning [redacted], Our Policy is posted in our store, and [redacted] was told over the phone that he was giving a NON REFUNDABLE $100 deposit. I refunded [redacted] everything but the $100 deposit. Please let [redacted] know that I am willing to refund him the $100 but he MUST return the gift certificate. He can contact me at anytime to set up his refund.

Review: Payed in full for one heated seat to be installed in vehicle driver side seat with power button installed on side of bucket seat, totaling $230. Was told upon pick-up power button could not be installed on seat and was mounted on dashboard. Drivers seat had a 4" complete tear on seam of corner. When questioned, employee stated, "I will be back, let me get technician", when he returned he stated "it was there and noted on the work order". We said it was not there and questioned why he did not call us. It was also not noted on receipt of services. He then said " do you have a picture to prove it was not". He then stated he was calling the police if my wife or I did not sign the work order. We also asked for the paperwork and warranty and he stated it was on the passenger seat, there was no paperwork about the product or warranty available. Also, this vehicle was being serviced the day before at another garage and mechanic stated there was no rip in seat at that time. The vehicle went straight from service garage to Auto Effects which was across the street. There was no tear in that seat when it was taken in.Desired Settlement: I am not disputing the service, they did install the heater and it does operate even though it was not installed as described, however, they damaged the interior fabric on the drivers seat lower left corner seam and the tear is a good 4-5 inches long from top to bottom of seat. This will continue to tear and is definitely damaged. In all fairness, they need to have the seat repaired somewhere or at least offer to help with the cost of repairing the damaged seat! They are very unprofessional and when I told him I would never be back he stated "Good, and I hope your seat doesn't work"!
