In response to claim ID [redacted] please be advised that Cost U Less Cars has only been in business at 304 Riverside for 1 year. We do not have record of doing business with [redacted] She states she purchased a vehicle on 06/29/2013; Cost U Less Cars was not doing business at...

304 Riverside Avenue, Roseville, CA at that time and is not responsible for the customer's complaints.

I am rejecting this response because: I was told something different when I visited Cost U less on 4/4/15. I have audio proof of the whole incident where they clearly tell me that they will "look" for my parts.

Although the staff on site were young and a little too hyper for me, I left with a nice car that has proven to be 100% reliable for over 3k miles now. They were able to get me financed with a very low credit score and the Finance Manager, [redacted] was very easy to work with. He followed through diligently and followed through thoroughly with the entire process. I will likely purchase another vehicle from them.

Review: In March,2013 I was sold a coupon for $40.00 with an expiration date of one year. This coupon provided free oil changes (3) among many other services. On Friday 09/07/13, I called to make an appointment for an oil change. I was asked if I had a coupon. I responded that I did and then I was told they would not honor the coupon because they had "sold too many". I was told to call back in a couple of weeks! I next called on 09/09/13 and requested my money back if he couldn't provide the service. He refused! I have the coupon with the owner posing for the picture on the front. Now I have no oil change and I'm out $40.00.Desired Settlement: I would like to get a refund as I do not trust the company to perform the service without incident.

Review: Not registered

I purchased a vehicle from Auto Empire the first week of February. In the contract they are to handle everything with registration through the department of motor vehicles. My registration was up May 1, the same day I got pulled over for the registration being late. After running my vehicle information he informed me that my car was not registered to anyone. When I contacted Auto Empire they were going to check with the person that handles their DMV work. I did a follow up call on Friday and Mike stated his mom mailed it to me and I should have it by Monday. I hadn't received it yesterday I went to the dealership and his mom had no idea what was going on and wouldn't speak to me on the phone. I have numerous messages and still have had no response. My car is still not registered. Desired Settlement: I want them to get my car registered and in my name like it is supposed to be!

Business' Initial Response

When we buy the cars, we buy 90% of our inventory from the auction, like all car dealers. However, the problem that all dealers run into is that auction can take some time take up to 30 to 45 days before they receive the title from the original owner. When we sold Mrs. [redacted] a car I told her that her registration will come to the mail and that she has a temporary registration in the window. Plus a lot of banks that we deal with will not fund the deal until the registration on the car is complete. We are just as eager to get Mrs. [redacted] her registration so that the bank can get the title and we can get a check from the bank.

In conclusion we have completed Mrs. [redacted] registration and we apologize for any inconvenience that we caused the buyer. She is really nice and we are happy to have her as a customer.

Consumer's Final Response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)

While their explanation sounds good, I purchased the vehicle on 1/29/13. As you can see that is well past 45 days! I have spoken with my financing company because I believe I shouldn't pay on a car that is not in my name, [redacted] Inc. told me that is something I have to take up with the dealership and I had to make my payments. My car is equipped with the tracking system to where if I don't make a payment it will shut down. So at this present time I am still making payments on a vehicle that is not in my name. I have yet to receive anything from DMV and it is now 5/22/13. They never discussed anything about taking 30-45 days and the car being bought at auction and I have a witness to that because my mother went with me. I just want tags and registration for my car!

Business' Final Response

I have talked to Mrs. [redacted] and informed her that her registration was completed. She should have her registration in a few days by mail and this case can be closed and erased.

Review: On June.29,2013 I financed a 2004 Toyota Corolla with a 118,425 reading on the odometer. I took it to 5 Star Auto Service on November.04,2013 with the Miles 124,824 to receive a safety check (which was not completed before selling the car) and was told the car was unsafe to drive due to the parts being completely worn out and the airbag light being on which I was also told is illegal to have on a car before it is sold. The safety check was completed while the warranty was still active which states 180 days or 7,500 miles after purchase. I have had multiple problems with the vehicle. I had to replace the battery which I had informed them about through a phone call and a check was sent to me for that amount but the Due Bill that was signed at purchase has not been completed and they have told me the parts had been mailed but they never showed up. I also had two different plates on the car which I was pulled over and given a ticket for when I was told by the Company that the plates were being mailed as well. Being pregnant, it was impossible at the time to drive over to the company a couple hours away to state the problems in person. When I finally had the chance to drive over there, the staff was very unprofessional in getting to what I was asking for which were my parts, instead they conversed and joked amongst eachother making me stand there for a fairly long amount of time which I felt was wasted after they finally told me they could not find the parts. He stated he would call me when he found the parts, I then messaged him when not receiving a call and he had told me he can't do anything about it anymore since they changed the companies name, I also have proof of that conversation as well. I have tried to be very patient with them but now it is getting ridiculous for me. I'm very upset with the way my situation has been being handled and I have no option but to resort to ask the Business Bureau for help because I am tired and exhausted of waiting for anything to be done by the direct company.Desired Settlement: I would expect the company to stick by their statements regarding the costumer and resolve the problems with the vehicle that was promised. I also would expect the company to reimburse the money I had to pay for the parts that were in need of immediately being fixed and fix the problems that had been stated to me at the time of the safety check or a car replacement equal of value but free of any problems.
