Water from the laser wash knocked my toyota emblem off the front of the car, wanted to check at the war wash for it...but the manager interceded. Manager acted very rude implying that it was my fault the emblem came off and the machines are touchless. However, I showed him another emblem that also was knocked loose after the last wash. He never took responsibility or even apologized for the situation, which is fine I guess. But what really bothered me is that he acted that I was looking for money from the situation. What poor customer service that is simply out of touch with society. People will probably still go here because its convenient, but I wont.Desired Settlement$12 refund for car wash that damaged my car.Business Response This carwash is a touch free automatic. Nothing touches your car but water. I have operated this carwash for 22 years and know from experience that high pressure water can not blow off a factory mounted emblem. When the customer showed me his loose emblem from his Prius and where an emblem was missing from I noticed immediately that they had been put on (reapplied) with inadequate adhesive. (I suspected non-factory.)Therefore, I told him that the problem was with the mounting of the emblem rather than the carwash. To confirm my suspicion I called [redacted] Toyota body shop and was told "There is no way that a carwash could knock off a factory applied emblem." The body shop went on to say "He must have had work done to his car where the emblems were not put on properly." He explained how they are applied and that there are mounting tabs on the emblems. These tabs were not on the customer's emblem. Therefore, as I stated at the time, the customers complaint should be with whoever put the emblems on his car. If I ever have a issue that is our fault I do my best to correct it for the customer and make sure they are happy. Consumer Response Actually, there were two mounting tabs, and one was broken and still lodged in the mounting hole, which I showed the manager. Love when people lie over $12, shows how classy they are. At first he claimed that it had been broken for a long period of time because of some residue where the emblem sat. Then I showed him the other side logo, which had also started to become loose and I ripped it off the car to show him that the adhesive looked the same under both. That shut him up real quick. Then he tried to pin it on bad adhesives from Toyota or that I had "work done" on the car. On both emblems? and they both come off at around the same time? My favorite part is this guy has been operating a car wash for "22 years", but in all the times I've been there, have never seen a single employee (Is that even legal?). Maybe if he was around the store more often he would actually hear about complaints more often. He might even learn a little more about customer support, increase his sales, and be able to afford to renovate his dilapidated store front that is "Autobath". Then he won't have to rely on the convenience factor that is the only reason anyone goes here instead of [redacted] Street or [redacted] car washes. Just because his machine is "touch-less" doesn't mean that the high powered jets of water won't knock an emblem loose. In fact, [redacted] Toyota is where my car is serviced and they know the history of my car. I called and they have recommended not using automatic car washes on cars you care about for this very reason. A mistake I won't make again. My favorite thing is how terrible your customer support is. In fact, [redacted]. That would be far too unbelievable. I'll give you some free advice, here is how you respond to frequent customers even if you disagree with them. Feel free to copy and paste it for future use since you obviously have some form of [redacted] that doesn't allow you to be seen by your customers. "I'm sorry to hear you were unhappy with the level of service you received at your last visit to Autobath. At Autobath we strive to make every customer love the way their automobile looks when they drive it, as if it was brand new again. Our Automatic car washes are 100% authentic "Laser Washes". This proprietary technology is leased out to us and is designed to be "touch-less" which means the actual machine doesn't touch the car. While weather, the elements, driving, and any variations can contribute to the loosening of an emblem, it was most likely not completely caused by the laser wash machines. However, you're business and loyalty is important to Autobath, so I'm going to issue you a free car wash certificate. I understand that we may disagree about the cause of the emblem coming off, but I want to offer you this as a gesture of good will and hope it helps alleviate the situation. You are a frequent and loyal customer, and I don't want to lose your future business. Please let me know next time you want to wash your car at the Autobath, and I will personally assist you with the laser wash. We can take a look at the pressure jets and if we think they are too strong for your car address the alternative options. Signed,An actual manager who is trained in customer service"
