Review: On May [redacted], I received a notice from the IRS. The notice was a bill for my 2010 taxes for approximately $2,806.05. Once I received the bill, I reached out to [redacted] office at [redacted] and was told to fax over the bill/ notice. They told me that they would file an amendment and correct the situation. I followed up later that week because I didn't receive a call back. I was told that [redacted] would be in at 2pm the next day. I called and he told me that he would take care of it. He would file an amendment and send me the paperwork to my home. I have been his customer for over 7 years so I took his word for it. I thought it was taken care of. I never received any paperwork from his office just empty promises.

On September [redacted], I followed up with the IRS and asked if they received an amendment. I spoke to [redacted]. I was told that an amendment would take 8 to 12 weeks. But there was no amendment on file. I than called [redacted] again. I had to call everyday until I was able to get him on the phone. He than told me again that everything was taken care of. That the amendment was filed. That he would send me the paperwork. I again, never received any paperwork.

On October [redacted], I again followed up with the IRS and was told that no amendment was filed and that the hold (that I placed) on my account was about to expired. The amount I owe had been accruing interest and penalties. I was told that [redacted] had used an educational credit that he shouldn't have. I now owed close to $3,000. I again texted [redacted] and called his office with no success. Below is a timeline of all the text messages I sent to [redacted]'s cell phone. On those dates, I also called his office with no success.

I had to take action to correct this situation. I called two accountants to review my 2010 taxes and both professional mentioned that I couldn't do anything to fix the situation. I was responsible for the charges. On October [redacted] I sent a check to the IRS for a total of $2,905.

To summarize, [redacted] submitted an educational credit that I was not eligible for and failed to correct his mistake. His lack of action almost ruined my credit and has cost me over $400 in penatlities. If I had not taken action, the amount owed would have gone into collections and my credit would have been ruined. He assured me that action was taken instead of being honest with me about the fact that there was no way to correct the situation.

It is truly sad that a long term customer was treated with such disregard. I just wanted the situation corrected. I just want to be paid for the late fees/ penalties I accrued because of his mistake and lies.

September [redacted]- he replied that he understood and that he would have an update in the morning. And that he would put my account on hold. This NEVER happened. I place the account on hold
