Discount Transmission & any transmission shop cannot give a price on rebuilding a manual transmissionWe can give you an exact price on a automatic transmissionThis customer was told the labor charge was $plus parts to rebuild his manual transmission! He was told that our experience
with a Dodge Neon was around $in parts, however there is no way to determine that until the transmission is removed from the car & disassembledHe agreed to the $500,charge up front. After removing his transmission & disassembling it the 3” & 4” gear hubs, flusters & shaft were damagedHis Neon is a turbocharged model, and this turned out to be a rare transmission only made for production yearsAlthough our vendor (Whatever It Takes transmission parts) assured us upfront that parts would be available it turned out there were no aftermarket parts available & could only be ordered from the dealerThe cost of dealer parts were over $& the cheapest used one transmission was $The customer then told us he was not going to spend that kind of money on it & to reassemble the transmissionWe were able to find good used parts if interested for $& with the $labor we could rebuild his transmission with a year warranty for $He became extremely aggressive and irrational at that point & told us to put it back together.I tried to explain logically that this was his best option but he was not interested in logic, only conflictMitchell manual labor guide lists the work we did at over hours of labor, which we performed. He was told he would be responsible for $labor in the beginning and the end.It turned out that he was referred to us by another repair shop which sends us businessAfter I found that out we let the customer have the car without payment. This is a perfect example where no matter how good you are there is always some irrational individual who tries to complain even when he wasn't charged anythingWe have not had a complaint in over yearsHe is probably mad because now he will spend twice as much money if he keeps the carWe strive for 100% customer satisfaction but unfortunately some people are problems no matter what you do.Sincerely,*** ***Owner, Discount Transmission CenterSEE ATTACHMENT FOR ORIGINAL RESPONSE

I did this complaint form before they changed there mind, so needless to say this problem got solved, but however if the guy who recommended me to this shop had not stepped in I would have been charged for something they couldn't have kept there word on, plus notice they was going to rebuild my transmission with used components, awesome choice lol

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below[This business is obviously in denial of any wrong doing and clearly not aware of the evidence I have yet to provideI will provide everything that is needed to persecute this fullyI have pictures & audio recordingsAfter picking my truck up, two weeks from the initial drop off, I drove the truck from the shop to workDuring my drive there I noticed the temperature slowly rising from degrees to degreesThe truck had sat for several hours before leaving to go homeWhen I drove the truck back down i-south the truck began to rise in temperature again before it completely stopped moving on the highwayIt was dead on road and fluid was all over the highwayI looked underneath the truck and saw a spilt transmission cooler line that had bustedAlso noticing the very poor workmanship that was done on my vehicleI will not elaborate on this poor workmanship as it would consume this entire websiteIn a nutshell you can clearly see the improper hoses that were used from the transmission coolerMight I add that they decided upon themselves to “upgrade” my transmission cooler from stock to a “RV” editionFactory hoses come in one solid metal to rubber hose that is inseparableThis business decided to use a “Jerry Rig” fix and fit the incorrect rubber hose over top of the metal transmission line and securing it with two hose clampsI also noticed a bolt that was not fully secured to my transmission housingNot to mention that they “plugged” my original transmission lines with bolts screwed into themLet’s get back to what happened when I was on the highwayAfter noticing this I had to call a tow company and wait for over an hour and a half to tow the vehicle back homeThe tow cost me $dollarsI had tried to call *** via his cell phone and he did not answerI also left a voicemail that he never responded toOnce I got home I removed the bad part of the rubber hose and fit it back on the metal lineI had to buy (quarts) ($each quart) of transmission fluid to refill it to make it driveableI drove the truck back to Discount Transmission and told *** what happenedHe said that it was “older hoses” that had been sitting for a long time and they had dry rottedSo, I waited while the truck was being fixed and he replaced them with newer hoses and also relocated the “RV Edition” transmission cooler to in front of the radiator which I had previously positioned behind my steel front bumperThis was done by request not by courtesyI felt confident this was my issue and I would be on my wayI drove the truck for a few days and each day I noticed the transmission would be in the to rangeHe told me that it was because of the “Bigger tires” on my truck causing it to get hot and it should be fineI believed him, and I continued to drive it until it started reaching closer to and I called him with my concernsI took the truck back to the shop and he stated that he thought it was the “brake light switch for the brake pedal” that was causing the converter to not go into “lockup”So, he replaced that and “brake light fuse” that was out, which he assumed was the issueI picked the truck back up and drove it for a few days and still experienced the same issueI took it back to the shop and he pulled the transmission back and stated that he thought the problem could lie in the “torque converter”So, he ordered a “new” one and replaced itHe said he test drove it for minutes and it was fineI picked it up and drove it for a day or two and kept noticing the same problemI took it back to the shop and he said he did not know what would be wrongSo, he pulled the “freshly rebuilt” transmission back out and “inspected” it for any damageHe said he did not find anything and replaced any wear part againIn his statement he says he had a “Auto electric mechanic” (not sure that is even a title?) look at my truck and state that it was a “computer command issue”He told me it needed to go to the electric shop because it does not deal with those problemsWell to save himself from embarrassment he is not telling you that he told me “he read online forums and called a hotline” He never had anyone with “Computer” knowledge look at my truckIf he had did, he would have proved it when I showed up each and every timeI told him I did not have time to do this back and forth crap and continue to place blame on something that has nothing to do with itHe wants to refer to the motor that was replaced months prior to this stating that the computer was “messed up” thenWell that is completely considering I pulled a 16-foot trailer from Virginia and back and the transmission never went over degreesAfter picking the truck back up (after business hours) I drove it for less than miles and noticed a terrible noise coming from the rear of the truckSince the shop was closed I stopped and bought a grease gun and greased every “grease fitting” on my truck., including the rear U-jointIt was also at this time I noticed a completely different transmission case on my truck with “Blue letters” indicative of “used or junkyard” partsI called him the next day and this took several calls to get through because at this time he was avoiding my callsEventually I got ahold of him and he told me to bring it back inNow each time I say he said to bring it back in, he wanted to push me off and act like It wasn’t his problemI brought it back and he said, “the u-joint is bad”, he would replace itHe made it clear he did not want me to bring it back again because it was a computer problem and not his problem nor did have anyone that could do anything to itHe also stated that I needed to pay for $in payments for the “external cooler” that he installed because he stated my truck never came with oneI told him I was planning on selling the truck and I highly doubt I will be bringing it back because I would be trading it inHe agreed to let the rest of the bill go because this would rid himself of the truck and “the warranty”The truck lasted a few weeks before breaking down again on Gene Snyder freeway on JanThe line had busted again and I had to pay yet again for the truck to be towed homeThis time the truck would still not work after placing the hose back on and filling it back with transmission fluid (quarts) ($each quart)I called *** that day and tried to explain my frustration to him and he stated “If you bring it in and the transmission is bad, the owner will not warranty it because it was your fault” So, I decided to take it to a real transmission shop*** *** ** ***This shop offered to tow my truck free of charge on Jan 26th The manager called me and stated “The transmission was bad and it appeared that the transmission was from a junkyard” He also stated that the transmission cooler line were butchered and an absolute nightmareHe stated the transmission that was in the truck was not the right one and that he could not rebuild it because it was so badHe replaced the transmission with a remanufactured one. He also replaced it with the original OEM transmission cooler and lines that was supposed to be on truck that was removed from the previous shopI picked the truck up on Jan 31st The truck carries a nationwide year 100,mile warranty in writing from this dealerThe owner himself stated how horrible of a job that was done on this transmission and they helped me out on priceConsidering It cost me almost $just to replace the transmission cooler & lines + labor that “Discount Transmission Center” had ruinedThe truck has yet to reach over degrees after driving for over hours continuously To sum this statement up I would like to add what I think this shop didThey originally rebuilt the transmission and did not know how to properly remove the transmission cooler lines so they cut them and replaced them with some random hosesThey put a useless “RV” cooler on it and tried to charge me even more money for something I never asked forAfter taking the truck back for the fifth or sixth time when they pulled the transmission back out, they were getting annoyed and replaced it with an entirely different unit, which was likely “used” or from a “junkyard”They do not know how to properly diagnose complex systems and solely rely on “internet videos or forums/hotlines” for guidance I am seeking Full reimbursement for the loss of $1,If this is not settled here it will move to small claims court where more evidence that is not provided here will be shown to a judge I do have an audio recording on Janof the interaction between ***, my mother and my girlfriendThat can be provided as well By the way, the computer was evaluated, and it is working exactly as it shouldIf you need a statement from that shop, I have that as wellThat’s why the truck is running perfectly now and not the side of the highway Regards, *** ***

Dear sir or Madame, Mr*** had us rebuild a transfer case for his old Dodge truckWe did it at a discounted price because his *** *** is a friend of mine.hen he finally picked up the truck and paid for it, he left the shop and everything was great .Later that day he
returned to the shop and said we had wrecked his truck. Nobody here even drove his truck and certainly didn't wreck itBut because it had been sitting for several and because his step dad has had many transmissions rebuilt with us I agreed to work with him on itThe truck is beat up and rusted out all over and his "alleged damage" was on the bed .The dent was up very high up where there is nothing at our shop that could have created the damage. So I agreed we would get him a newer bed without rust holes you could put your fists insideI agreed to pay for half the price of the bed since it was already dented and rusted outThat was several weeks ago and now I get this complaint. We are proud of our A+ rating with The Revdex.com & have strived for customer satisfaction for yearsWe can almost always make our customers happy but some people are irrational and this will most likely be settled in court . *** *** , Owner

*** *** dropped off his Nissan Sentra for a diagnosis, the transmission had internal failure and needed to be replaced His car has a CVT transmission which we DO
NOT rebuild. We gave him the option of getting a used transmission for $or a new transmission from the Nissan dealer for $plus $for the fluid plus $to install itAfter talking to ***'s grandfather who informed us he owned a transmission shop and was familiar with these transmissions and the problems they had , the *** decided to go with the Nissan factory unitSince we had to pay for the transmission upfront , along with the fluid, and a $transmission core deposit, we requested $in advance to help cover initial costs. We installed the transmission and it shifted fine but has hard shiftsAlthough we have gotten at least a dozen of these transmission from Byerly Nissan and had never had to have the computer reprogrammed Byerly told us this transmission had to be programmed .We told the customer when he picked it up that it needed to go to the dealer to have the computer flashed at a cost of All we made was for the installation and computer programming was not our responsibility The same day his mother called screaming and hysterical that we sent her baby boy off to *** and put his life in dangerThat's totally ridiculous the vehicle was safe to drive just shifting hardHe was told to take it straight to the dealer because driving it with it shifting hard could damage the transmissionObviously it wasn't very smart to drive it to *** like that. After taking a barrage of insults from Ms*** the morning after he picked the car up , I told her to bring me the car and I would take it to the dealer and pay to have the computer flashed .She agreed to do that. But that's where she really went off the rails, instead she took the car to the dealership and hooked up with a service writer who was trying to make a commission She spent more money at the dealer on some bogus charges If there was a problem with the new transmission the dealer would warranty that But no, she wouldn't listen to anything because she was too busy screaming and yelling and calling us " hy rednecks" and "crackers" which I did find humorous and did laugh at these crazy insults, which made her more angry. When I wouldn't listen to her insane screams and blocked her calls she then texted me all kinds of racial insults which I still have on my phone today. All we did was install a new transmission from the dealer which Nissan warrantiesThe transmission was properly installed ,the dealer got all the money except $600.00.It is totally ludicrous to say the vehicle did not need a transmission the car wouldn't go above mph There is no recall on the transmission Discount transmission is proud of our A+ rating with the Revdex.com , We have been in business over years and strive to make every customer happyHowever sometimes you run into one of these people who are either very stupid or crazy .Unfortunately we ran into one that was both Sincerely , *** ***

When this vehicle came in the customer told me he had just put a used motor in the truck and then the trans started messing up it had spliced wires on motor where previous installer swapped parts onto the wrong motor for the truck. So customer replaced his own motor afterwards to get his truck back
on the road, transmission was barely drivable when it showed up at my shop .I informed him the transmission had to be rebuilt ,he agreed and we di the work .on initial diagnosis truck could not be driven long because it had shifting issues and couldn't get to higher gearsAfter customer picked it up it did have a issue with external cooler hose split Under warranty I ordered heavier duty hose and everything was fine for a couple weeks .HE brought it back overheating the transmission againWe then pulled transmission back out and we found nothing inside hurt or damaged or any reason inside the transmission to cause this issueAfter last rebuild we had a auto electric mechanic look at the truck he informed us it had a computer command issue and its not commanding lock up which will cause the transmission to overheatWe are no auto electric guys and do not have the tools to do this kind of work. Customer was then instructed to take the vehicle to the electric shop to have computer repaired or replaced ,otherwise transmission will overheat again and burn upcustomer was informed failing to take care of this problem would void his warranty He did not do this which is abuse and voids the warrantyWe also have a $unpaid balance on the original billWe normally try our best to help all customers but even in his complaint he shows the transmission was overheating and instead of stopping to let it cool off he just kept driving until it got hot enough to split the heavy duty rubber cooler lines this timeHeat is the number one cause of failure in transmissions. This shop went above and beyond to try to help him get this issue fixedBut you cant please everyone or make them understand when it has nothing to do with our work.So a week or so goes by and he calls saying there is a noise under his truck,we check it out and its coming from his rear u-joint ,which he informs us he replaced himself a few months backwhen checking it it had zero grease inside and the bearings were dry and making noiseI replaced the u-joint and told him it would be $, he said do it .I told him when he come by to pay the remaining balance from transmission to pay us then , he agreed and picked truck up that nightWe talked about the electric shop situation again and he informed me his girlfriend was pregnant and couldn't jump up in the lifted truck anymore so he had a friend who was taking it off his hands and he wasn't worried about it anymore we would never see the truck again . months later he calls me up saying the transmission wont move and he drove I on the freeway with the trans temperature reaching almost degrees but couldn't stop he needed to get homeThis is the cause for the line to bust again these hoses are not made to take this type of abuse and it split yet again under extreme tempsTo address the junk yard transmission comment ,we have never installed a used transmission to try to pass it off as a rebuilt one ,this is a lie just to try to make the situation look worst than it isOur warranty on all vehicles is month 12,miles warranty never unlimited like he posted in this complaintjust setting record straight. *** *** , Manager

Mr. [redacted] called our shop in May and asked for a price to replace a clutch master cylinder on his HHR. quoted him 300.00 and we towed his car at our expense. Upon inspection of the vehicle Mr. [redacted] had tried to install the master cylinder & not only was it installed incorrectly he had tore up...

the firewall where the master cylinder is mounted. I told him to fix his mess properly the car needed to go to a body shop to replace the firewall, because the dealer does not have a repair kit for this problem. He didn't have the money for that as the repair would cost more than the car was worth. I told him in the past we have had success fabricating a fix to try and hold him over temporarily. He agreed and my mechanic spent a whole day working on this fix and believed it would work for him. Mr. [redacted] picked up the car & the very next day the problem reoccurred. My mechanic spent another whole day re-fabricating a new fix. This time he thought it would hold so we gave Mr. [redacted] a 90 day warranty & told him if it happened again he would need to take it to a body shop and get it fixed properly. He agreed and that was more than 3 months ago.Had not heard from him since, until receiving this letter. If he had a problem he should have contacted us to make us aware of his problem instead of thrashing us to Revdex.com without even an opportunity to help him out. But he chose an unwarranted attack on us when we were just trying to help him out of the mess he created. It's ironic that he called out workmanship shoddy when his shoddy workmanship created the whole problem in the first place. Because of his actions and his warranty is up, | plan on not doing any further business or assistance to Mr. [redacted].

I stick by my previous statements. as far as "junkyard" transmissions go ,the transmission that was in the vehicle was the original transmission from when the vehicle arrived on our lot, Only rebuilt.[redacted] is in the business to make money they will say anything they can to "help you out" as long as you pay their price. I talked to the mechanic that installed the transmission at [redacted] and he stated that [redacted] also installed a new wiring harness for the transmission because there were cut wires . Proving that a all electronic transmission that isn't getting the right signal from the computer can not work properly causing problems. and as far as transmission coolers go again the rubber hoses cant take extreme heat and do have problems. there were no "butcher jobs" done here. We are not at fault your "mechanic " that installed the motor before us caused some wires to be cut, also  you were aware of some wires were spliced and wrong connectors put on for the wrong motor being installed before you did it yourself. So if it goes to court we have our proof we need too.

UNFORTUNATELY THE ONLY ITEM I DAMAGED WAS THE HOSE RUNNING FROM THE BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR TO THE MASTER CYLINDER AND I TOLD THE INDIVIDUALS THAT.   I DID NOT DAMAGE THE TABS ON THE FIREWALL OF THE VEHICLE BECAUSE ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS TWIST THE UNIT A 1/4 OF A TURN. I DIDN'T SPEND ENOUGH TIME ON IT TO DO THIS AND I KNOW BETTER  NOT TO FORCE ANYTHING.I CERTAINLY DO NOT RECALL THAT ANYONE IMPLIED THIS WOULD BE A TEMPORARY FIX TO THE PROBLEM.   Revdex.com, USE YOUR COMMON SENSE IN THAT WHY WOULD A SHOP SPEND HOW MUCH TIME THAT IS INDICATED TO PUT ON 2 HOSE CLAMPS WHICH IS THEIR IMPLIED TEMPORARY FIX.ALSO WHY DID THE SHAFT ON THE BRAND NEW MASTER CYLINDER COMPLETELY SHEARE OFF?SINCE WHEN DOES TEMPORARY FIXES BECOME A PART OF GOOD BUSINESS PRACTICE.   DO YOU TEMPORARILY FIX THE BRAKES?REGARDS[redacted]

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I can go back forth with Mr. [redacted] regarding the name calling.  In my initial complaint, I provided a statement to which were facts.  The laughing, the name calling and humiliation that he displayed to my [redacted] and me are irrelevant, to the type of service that he provided to us.  I have attached documentation showing everything that transpired from July 17, 2017 until July 25.2017.  What Mr. [redacted] is expressing on his response is totally incorrect.  First off I never had a discussion with him regarding my [redacted] having a grandfather that has a transmission shop.  His grandfather has been deceased and has been all of my [redacted]'s life, when I spoke to Mr. [redacted] on the telephone he laughed at me and said my [redacted] is stupid for driving the car on the interstate.  I then asked him if he diagnosed the car before he repaired it.  He tells me and my [redacted] they have never worked on a 2013 Nissan, and the transmission burned up. Me and my [redacted] arrived at Nissan at time of opening, so for Mr. [redacted] to tell me to drive the car back (with a sinister laugh back to his shop, tells me that he may have been in business for 33 years with same mentality of disrespect and violation to all of his customers) please see the attached documents showing where he failed, first by not allowing my [redacted] to sign the receipt along with an altered original part number that is not correct.  Also I have attached the call back information that was received from the dealer (according to the VIN number it will tell you every recall on the vehicle and if his company is A+ he would have known from the previous cars he worked on like mine, he would have expressed that.  Nissan is a company that stand by their brand and for him to say they make a commission on  repairs, that may be the case but when it’s a recall dealing with their product they stand by it and make the necessary corrections without the expense of the consumers.   That has to be the most degrading, I have ever heard for me to pay Nissan an additional 270.00 to say that he messed up the transmission.      Also with the unsigned receipt that was given to my [redacted] at the time of pick was the attached was the , the diagnosis provided to my [redacted] from [redacted](he gave it to them, when he took the car there) he’s a 20 year old kid that didn’t know not to give them the paper,.  If they would have been honest from the beginning they would have provided me their own test.  Also attached is documentation from Nissan of what they had to correct on the car and the amount I had to pay to correct there mistakes.  Mr. [redacted]'s response does not show any facts that he did right by myself as a consumer, with him calling me stupid and crazy tells me exactly what kind of business he is running.  Lastly at the end of the day, it was just a recall on the transmission, I travel for a living and when he told me what was wrong with the car I trusted him enough to deliver and he failed to do so...

see attachment for original. We towed the expedition on 12/6/15. The vehicle's transmission was completely burned up and quoted A price of $1600.00 to $180.00, to rebuild the transmission with a 1year warranty. He didn't have the money so I agreed to let the vehicle sit on our lot while Mr. [redacted]...

made payments. Over the 2 months Mr. [redacted] had come to my office on 2 occasions and made a payment of $200.00 & $500.00, -Suddenly on Feb 1" Mr. [redacted] came to the office and said he needed the vehicle because his bus schedule was changing and he needed us to get it ready. He was told that we would get it ready and his balance was $930.00. He then said he would only be able to pay $1300.00 total or he was having his vehicle towed out. He later said he bought a used transmission for $200.00 and had a "mechanic” to install it.I told him there won’t be a refund. We had a deal and we had been storing his vehicle and as the sign in our office clearly states there is a $17.50 a day storage for vehicles not being paid on. There was never any vulgar language or threats on either side. I have no idea where he got that except to make his story appear more dramatic. He got mad and stormed out. His friend was still in the office and I said I would be willing to give him $200.00 and good luck with his used transmission. Mr. [redacted] then called the police which of course said it was a civil matter.I would be willing to refund Mr. [redacted] half of his money $350.00 to resolve this issue, even though he is due nothing.

This is in response of i[redacted] discount transmission centerThis customer was a full year out of warranty. 99% of the time after we rebuild a transmission the rebuilt unit out lasts the car. Sometimes, however a part fails long after its out of warranty. this customers torque...

converter failed causing a whole path of destruction. He was way past warranty but as good faith gesture I agreed to rebuild it again for the cost of the parts plus the tow.I didn't have to do anything , but the customer agreed he would be happy paying the cost of the parts & gave him another year warranty. Unfortunately some people are ungrateful & not very smart. If I had known he was still going to be dissatisfied I would have sent him down the road. He continued to yell &complain when he picked up his car even though he was only charged for parts that he had agreed on. We could not get the parts warrantied .  His car left here working perfectly . If he has any problems with the transmission he is covered under warranty. All of his statements are false . On the contrary , we not only honor our warranties we deliver customer satisfaction over and above what is stated . We consistently maintain a A+ rating with the Revdex.com & are extremely proud of our excellent work and customer satisfaction. No matter what you do there are some people that are a problem. He thinks he knows more about transmissions than I do after 34 years in business. we have no complaints I am aware of.                                                                                                                                                                         [redacted]   [redacted]
