I was both shocked and disappointed when I called the office and spoke to the "manager" [redacted]. He was rude, tactless, intimidating and down right degrading. I called to inquire of my bill, so I could make arrangements to settle. I began by apologizing for the delay and explained that I was still dealing with the insurance agency when he interrupted me say, "No, you knew you had to come and pay because the insurance adjuster told you-I was standing right there when he called you!" Regardless of whether that statement was true or not, I was not denying my responsibility or obligation to pay. I CALLED TO FIND OUT WHAT I OWE. He went on to say that He wasn't going to charge me storage just come in and pay my tow fee, $195. I was a little surprised at that price but I said ok. I said I would make arrangements for the car to be picked up and he said I could not remove MY car from the premises until I come in and show proof of ownership because he believes their were "a couple of liens on that car". I was really taken aback by what he was saying and confused as to why any of that mattered. But I said "there are NO liens on my car, I will be in to pay the bill" When I arrived to pay the bill, he tells me my total is $195 as we discussed. Then he informs me that I can only pay in cash - no cards - no checks. I had to leave and come back. When I returned with cash, [redacted] was gone, but he left my bill with another employee. I paid my bill and told the employee that someone would be by to remove the car by noon. He said "ok". When I followed up with the Salvage yard who was to remove the car from [redacted]'s I was told that [redacted] refused to release the car because I still owed him money. When I called to speak with him to get some clarity, Mr. [redacted] told me that he took my car in exchange for storage fees and that he 'can't pick up cars for free!' I am appalled that this place is still in business with him on the loose! He is rude and unprofessional and uses deceitful practices to gain profit.Product_Or_Service: Recovery ServiceDesired SettlementI would like the $195 I paid in agreement to have my car released to [redacted]. Had he made his intentions to KEEP my car clear from the beginning I would have never called anyone else to pick up the car. I would have dealt with Mr. [redacted] directly on the matter since he was so obviously interested in the vehicle. If he wanted the car I would have been more than happy to negotiate that with him considering, I had no intention of repairing the car. I do not appreciate his duplicity.Business Response hello I talk to [redacted] after her car was at our storage lot for 15 days, I told [redacted] to bring $ 195 and her title to her car. as she did . at the time her bill was $ 810 to cover (1) tow bill (2) storage fee (3) dmv file fee . so on Monday 5/4/2015 I got a call from [redacted] about picking up her car I told them that she give us the title and tow fee for the bill. on 5/4/2015 [redacted] called me about her car I told her if she wanted her car come pay the full bill $ 810 at the time of her call . she then said you need to work on your people skills and hung up the phone . 3 mins later she call back saying that she wanted her $ 195 back and I said no . your bill was 810 . and that what you left your title and money for . she then said well I am going to report you to the better bus , and take you to small claims court.
