I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I...

reviewed appear below. In his letter, Mr. G[redacted] stated that I was told that their lot was full of vehicles that were already there for repair. That is false. I dropped my car off in the evening as they were closing and filled out a drop box slip. I didn't have any conversation with any of the employees except to borrow an ink pen.
Another discrepancy in Mr. G[redacted]'s letter was that the door exterior door handle had to be removed. In Chris' own words, he said he "broke" the door handle to get in to the car. He did this without contacting me to let me know what his plan of action would be.
After Chris broke the handle on my door, he then called me to tell me that and that I needed a new door. I said I didn't want a new door if the latch could be repaired and the handle could be replaced. Chris ordered a new handle and the latch. Because Chris damaged my door so badly, he could not get the door handle to sit flush on my previous door and he bent the rods in my door.
There were not numerous calls made from Chris, but TO Chris asking on the progress of my vehicle. When I hadn't heard from him, I showed up at the shop and he told me immediately, he was going to replace the door and it wasn't going to cost me any extra money. He and I went back and forth about the amount and we finally settled on $157 dollars for the latch and labor.
Two weeks later after persistently calling the shop and showing up to check on the car, the vehicle was finally ready. When I went in to pay for the car, it was a completely different price than what was quoted. Chris falsely claims that he told me the final price when he called me to tell me my car was ready. Number one, he never quoted the price $300.68 to me, ever. And that Repair Order was shown to my mother AFTER we went in to pay for the door. That was NEVER shown to us ahead of time. You can see on the Repair Order form it says "Scheduled 10/7/15", when they claim the work was done on the 5th.
When my mother went back to pay for the vehicle, I wasn't there to pick it up with her. Another false statement in the letter. The car remained in their lot until the next morning. We did not pay and drive away. We went back on a Saturday morning to get it, when the place was closed. IMMEDIATELY I noticed I could not open the driver's side door. They did not use the old key cylinder and thought it  unnecessary to have the vehicle re-keyed, which is standard procedure when a door is replaced. I went back on Monday, the very next day they were open, after I got off from work to show him.
The panel was missing screws at the bottom. Water leaks in from the door, because it was not properly installed and on top of that, the window does not work. Again, Chris falsely claims he didn't have an opportunity to inspect the vehicle and believes we unplugged the motor. Completely untrue on both accounts. Chris examined the vehicle and said out of his own mouth that he didn't have the car re-keyed, because he and I had words previously. I stated that was unprofessional of him to not complete the job, because he was upset with me. He said that my old window wasn't working. That is not true. My window worked just fine when I brought it in. But, if this is a "new" door, what does that have to do with my old window?
Chris knew full well that my vehicle was not fixed properly. When I took it back for him to look at it, he said he wasn't the one who installed it. Even if he didn't install it, he should have double, triple checked to make sure that the work was done sufficiently. He knows that door can't pass inspection. What auto shop releases work that won't pass state inspection?
Chris and his team made a mistake by breaking my car door and want me to pay for their mistake. I really just want a refund and take my car some place else, where they are competent in their profession.
The invoice says there is a 6 month warranty on the parts and labor, but they have shown themselves not capable, so why would I put my vehicle in their hands again, to have it come back with yet another issue?
I did not sully C & C Auto's reputation, their lack of honesty, professionalism, customer service and industry knowledge created this problem.

Review: On the 15th of September, I dropped off my [redacted], because my driver side door would not open. I left a note in the drop box that stated, driver side door won't open. Chris G[redacted], the co-owner of C&C Auto repair called me later that day to tell me he had broken the handle on my car to open the door to assess the internal damage. I found this curious. He told me he needed to order a whole new door, because all of the rods were bent on the latch mechanism. He told me it would cost $250 to replace the door. This didn't sound right to me. So I told him I needed to call him back. I conferred with my mother, who consulted her friend [redacted] who talked to his mechanic. [redacted]'s mechanic stated that the panel could have been cut off, before breaking the handle & that Chris made the wrong decision. Albeit, he also made this decision without consulting with me first. I called my significant other who consulted with his mechanic & he also agreed that the panel could have been removed before breaking the handle. I called Chris back & told him that I wanted him to only repair the latch & he needed to pay for the broken door handle. He agreed, which was around $157 to replace. A few days later, [redacted] stopped by the shop to see what was going on, as I hadn't received an update. [redacted] came upon a few of the employees having a difficult time getting the handle to be flush with the vehicle. He asked them how they were going to get it to fit. They didn't supply a sufficient answer. On September 18th, I stopped by the shop to check on my car. I spoke with Chris & he said they had to order a door, but it was going to be the same price. I was frustrated at this point & expressed my dissatisfaction with their poor customer service & lack of communication. We agreed upon the $157 when I left. It took another 2 weeks to fix my car. I went to pay today & the price was over $300. He never stated that price with me. They will not honor their word. My car is held hostage & I'm forced to take legal action.Desired Settlement: Despite being blatantly lied to & jerked around for the greater part of a month, I am willing to pay the agreed amount of $157 & move on with my life.
