This vehicle in question was a very nice ride which had been properly inspected and was being sold AS-IS which I explained to the customer. She overlooked the vehicle and she said she would take it without even test driving the vehicle. So I said OK come on in lets do the paper work. Which she did,...

and by the way she did sign a BUYERS GUIDE  stating AS-IS on the vehicle in question. So she can say what she wants about me or this establishment but any customer that I have had prior dealings with will gladly tell you that I DO NOT  mislead people in the purchase of there vehicles. It is your responsibility  as the buyer to over look the car before you make the decision to buy it and not come back mad at the dealership which had no known knowledge of this issues with the vehicle and bad mouth us after we offered to help get the part and even offered her a discount rate at my mechanic. Which as we all know this is more then I am required to do anyway on a AS-IS sell and not to mention I replaced the messed up hoses and bye-pass for free so if any one should have any questions concerning the way I handled this matter feel free to contact us  at ###-###-####AS-IS -NO WARRANTY   BOX STATES  (YOU WILL PAY FOR ALL COST FOR ANY REPAIRS) The dealer assumes no responsibility for any repairs regardless of any oral statements about the vehicle.

Review: I recently purchased a '99 Volvo used from this dealership and after him telling me nothing was wrong with the vehicle, its in great condition, Yes it passed inspection last month and all I needed to replace the rear tire rod and windshield wipers. I explained this car is going to be the only vehicle to drive me to and from work and I have to travel for work so I need a safe reliable vehicle. He said the car has no issues. He had me sign papers for the sale and said we would finish the paperwork when I got back, wasn't aware he was misleading me, as these papers were the bill of sale. as I drive the car back to the dealership the coolant fell into the floor board and he said the heating core is the cause that he would get this fixed, The check engine light was on and he noticed it but he said he would check that he would get the heating core fixed, demanded I give him the check for the car and handed me an envelope and said good day. The next day he called said it was just a tube that was bypassed the heating core does need to be replaced that while other places will charge 800-1000 he can get it fixed for 180!! Said that I wouldn't have to worry about it till winter in 3-4 months. he told me he called [redacted] yet told my loan officer he called Volvo for the part price. Now he wont fix the issue and said I bought the car as is and doesn't have to deal with it anymore. that he is offering this repair due to wanting to keep me happy, yet I have to pay for the repair. I explained that I bought this car after being told nothing was wrong with it and that he mislead me on the paperwork as well. saying that we would finish up the sale when I was done at [redacted]. but there was no other paperwork. I drove the car from C&C to [redacted] and back to C&C total of about 30 minutes and this happened.Desired Settlement: I want a full refund of the sale price and he can have the car back. or he can pay the bill for the repair itself which will be completed by a mechanic of my choosing and have whatever is causing the check engine light on to be repaired. I would a full check up on the car done by my mechanic and see if there is anything else that is wrong with the car and have pay to get that fixed as well, not that I think there is anything else wrong just concerned.

Response:

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

He did not offer to find a mechanic he wanted to use his which I didn't feel was reliable. Instead wanted to use my own mechanic and asked for him to pay the bill for the repair. Which he never responded. I have not slandered him or his company. My mother asked on [redacted] if anyone had problems with this dealership and was not aware of this until a few days later to which the owner of C&c told me to control my parents that he isn't going to repair anything. I honestly don't believe he ever was. He told me everything was in great working order and that its a nice car and had me sign the sale of the car before I even got to test drive the car. Then stayed he would fix the heating core. After the coolant flooded the floorboard, and smoke coming out of the dash as I was driving.I just want the matter settled. If he could just pay the bill for the part and repair. The tire rod on the front is needing to be replaced now as well. I really just want him to pay the bill to repair the heating core.
