Review: On Saturday August 30, 2014 at 4:09pm I contacted C&J Appliance to discuss and possibly make arrangements to have my [redacted] repaired.

I spoke with an individual named "[redacted]" whom identified himself as the owner of this business.

I described the problem I was experiencing, and asked what cost would be involved.

He estimated $65.00 for what he called a "Trip and Diagnostic Charge" and if he were to complete the repair, would offer a 10% discount on the Labor.

I told him that was a bit higher than I had previously been quoted by another repair service (which was $50.00 for a Service Call), he aligned and agreed with charging $50.00.

We agreed on an appointment scheduled for Tuesday September 2, 2014 4:00pm. I had to leave work before the end of my Day to meet him.

He called me at 3:08 pm to inform me he was going to be later than scheduled, it would be closer to 4:30pm.

He called again at 4:48pm and said that his GPS showed his ETA as 5:10pm, he arrived at 5:13pm.

He viewed the Top, Back and Front of the Dryer, asked a few questions along the way, referred to pictures or diagrams on his smart phone, then indicated it was the door switch.

He stated that he did not have the part in his vehicle that he would have to go get it. He stated the part would cost about $24.00 and would only take about 10 Minutes to install.

At 6:00 pm he had re-fastened what he took loose, requested his fee be paid at that time, and we agreed he would return on Thursday Sept. 4th 8:00am to install the door switch.

He called me Thursday morning at 7:34 am stating "his child was sick"? he'd been up all night, he had to take the child to the Doctor, and asked to reschedule the appointment.

I agreed,told him I would call and advise him of the time to come later that Day, then I left for work.

On Sept. 4th at 7:26 pm I called [redacted]_no answer_I left a message.

On Sept. 5th at 2:32 pm I called [redacted]_no answer_ left another message.

On Sept. 7th at 5:17 pm I called [redacted]_no answer_ left a message and tagged it URGENT.

To date:

I have not received a call back from [redacted]?

My Dryer is still inoperable

[redacted] has signed and cashed check # [redacted] in the amount of $50.00

He has failed to fulfill his agreement to return and repair my Dryer.Desired Settlement: Return my phone call.

Make the arrangements to return to the property,complete the repair resulting in the Dryer operating.

Review: I had [redacted] to my home to repair a refrigerator. I informed him beforehand it was thru a home warranty insurance co. At my home before he left he said he called the insurance co. They say he did not! The insurance co said they will not pay without a proper IVOICE !! After several phone calls [redacted] refuses to talk to me or reply.

I do not understand the problem, I am out $265.00 with no way to get reimbursed with out a proper invoice.Desired Settlement: A PROPER IVOICE. Or a refund.

Review: We gave [redacted] who came from C&J appliances two checks totaling two hundred and eighty nine dollars to fix our icemaker. We were told we had thirty days warranty on parts and ninety days on his work. This was on 29 August. On the second of September my wife called [redacted] to tell him our ice maker was still malfunctioning. An appointment was scheduled at 11:00 the next day(3 Sep), that [redacted] might be provided the opportunity to keep his word. He did not keep the appointment or his word. The company now refuses to talk to us.Desired Settlement: I feel we should be refunded the two hundred dollars we paid for a repair that was not a repair.

Review: [redacted] of C & J Appliance Instalation and Service was called on 9/26/2014 to fix our refrierator. He was told at the time that we did not want to spend a lot of money on the refrigerator as we were moving to a new home in several months and would be buying a new one soon. He was also told that it would be my husband, **, who would be at the house and that ** had suffered brain damage several years ago. I tell people who do not know ** this so they will understand if he struggles with his words. [redacted] charged [redacted] credit card $253.80 on 9/26. That was more than what I wanted to spend on the old refrigerator but if it was fixed I would live with the charge, but several days later we realized that the refrigerator was still not fixed. I called C & J 9/29 and told [redacted] that the refrigerator was still not fixed and that I did not want to spend more money to get it fixed, but that we needed it fixed. He worked on the refrigerator that day and proceeded to tell my husband that he needed $170 in cash as he could not take a credit card that day. He also did not have an official invoice with him so he wrote the invoice out on a notepad. The refrigerator is STILL not fixed! I called [redacted] at least 8 times after 9/29 to let him know of our extreme dissatisfaction. Before 9/29, he picked up his phone immediately. After my first voice mail telling him that the refrigerator was still not fixed, he no longer answered my calls. I was able to find some other telelphone numbers for him and called those. When he heard my voice, he humg up on me. I called from numbers he would not recoginize. Again, he picked up but when he heard my voice, he hung up. I have disputed the credit card charge with my husband's credit card company and am waiting to hear from them. I feel strongly that not only did [redacted] not fix our refrigerator after charging us $423.80, but he also took advantage of my husband's disability.Desired Settlement: A refund of all monies. I do not know if [redacted] is the sole member or owner of this organization, but if he is not, the organization needs to reprimand him for this horrible customer service and treatment of a disabled person.

Review: My clothes dryer would not dry clothes[dryer air was cold].C& J appliance came to repair the problem and were supposed to clean dryer duct work. After the repair we used the dryer it was extremely hot, even too hot to touch the surface of the dryer. C& J had replaced the dryer heating element. I decided to call [redacted] appliance to service the dryer, I had used them before. [redacted]. had to replace the heating element, it had been install improperly and was grounded causing the dryer to heat up and not regulate or cool off. We were fortunate it didn't cause a fire. If we had left the dryer on after going to bed we would have had a house fire. The heating element was replace and properly installed by [redacted] and the dryer duct was cleaned. C&J had not cleaned the duct work even though they charged me for the work. I took pictures of the work C&J had done and of all the lint that was removed from the duct work.Desired Settlement: I want to be paid back for all the charges. The total came to $280.00.

Review: I hired C&J Appliance to repair my washing machine. He came to my house and gave me a diagnosis of the shocks were worn out. I asked him if he was sure that was the problem and he told me yes, he has replaced about 50 of them and it is a common problem. He misdiagnosed my problem and has failed to fix it after many requests. He told me he was coming to fix it but has not.Desired Settlement: I want my money back and think his business licenses should be revoked if he has one. He add states he has all kinds of certifications.

Review: [redacted] came to repair our dryer on 1/9/2015. He said that the heating element was bad. He said he had to go to [redacted] to buy the part. He came back and said he put the part in. Then he said there was a problem with the sensor. He said he had to go back to [redacted] but wouldn't charge us for the sensor. He came back a few hours later to put the sensor in. He said the dryer was repaired, and left. I tried drying clothes and there was no heat. His repair didn't work. My husband contacted him to tell him. [redacted] said he could come back anytime we wanted. My husband said to come back 1/12/2015 between 9-10am. But because of a conflicted appointment my husband called him on 1/12/2015 to reschedule for 1/13/15 between 5-6pm. [redacted] didn't show up for the 5-6pm appointment. My husband contacted him 1/13/15, no reply. He contacted him 1/14/15. He replied on 1/15/2015 saying he was just released from hospital and that's why he didn't show up. [redacted] said he would return on 1/16/15 at 7:30am to fix his repair. He didn't show up. We contacted him on 1/19/2015, and 1/22/2015 and as of today we haven't heard back.Desired Settlement: We would like our $210.00 back. Also we would like an additional $25.00 to cover the laundromat trips we had to take while waiting for him to come back. Also the $25.00 will include the postage to mail back his "new parts" that he said he put in. We will be able to remove those parts and send him to him with a valid address he provides.
