We had a hot water tank fail 2 days before I was to leave on a holiday and did not want to leave my family without hot water. I checked for available companies to do the replacement in this short time frame and chose Miles Plumbing/ Knowles Gas fitting. They asked a lot of questions over the phone so that they would bring the right size tank and not have to charge me for extra trip to get different tank. They still had to run and get a different tank. When I enquired to to cost of replacing the hot water
Heater I was told it would be 1900 dollars. When the repairman came he brought with him a 50 gallon replacement equivalent to the 50 gallon one he war removing. It was taller and would not fit so he had to go get a 40 gallon one that would fit. He also informed me that this would save money as the smaller one would be cheaper. Imagine my surprise when I got the bill for around 2500 dollars. Also I left the next morning very early and my wife called to say she could smell gas in the house. I informed her to call Miles Plumbing right away to come fix ithe. She did and was told to call [redacted]. By the time [redacted] came to shut the gas off my wife was experiencing negative health effects from being in this environment, even though she spent most of this time away from the house. This would lead me to believe that the leak was significant. Several days later Miles Plumbing sent someone out to investigate and reparations the issue. The repairman that came this time informed her that this was a really bad install job. Luckily our house did not explode, but my family had to endure several more days without hot water.
