Hardwood flooring in living room and office peeling, discolored and cracking. Builder informed on numerous occasions. Issues still present to date.
We purchased our brand new C. Cooper Custom Home on August 8, 2012. After moving in to our new "dream" home, eleven days after getting settled in, our plumbing backed up and caused our Master bathroom to flood. My husband contacted Mr. Cooper and informed him that we were having issues and Mr. Cooper advised that his plumber would come take a look. The plumber did not show. I contacted Mr. Cooper via text the next morning on August 20, 2012 at 6:33 am requesting that he and/or his plumber come take a look. Mr. Cooper replied "Yes. I'm coming by this morning with him". "You shouldn't have this problem. I'm sorry". Shortly after this issue, we began to notice that the hardwood flooring of our entire office and a large portion of our great room/living room was beginning to peel, become discolored and cracking. We contacted Mr. Cooper and he came to the house to look at the flooring issues. He informed my husband that he is not sure why this was happening other than we must have let water sit on the floor for a long length of time. Mr. Cooper sent a man out to the house a few days later to inspect the flooring and the man informed my husband that there were very high moisture readings under our flooring. The moisture levels were as high as 16% with the normal moisture rate being between 8 % - 9 %. We did not hear from Mr. Cooper after this inspector returned to Mr. Cooper with his findings. We contacted Mr. Cooper over and over, and he would say that he was going to get it taken care of or that he would have his guy come take a look. Months passed, with many calls and messages to Mr. Cooper regarding our issue, finally at the one year mark of us living with the flooring issues and having no repairs done by Mr. Cooper, we contacted him again, left a voicemail message and he then informed us that we needed to contact Bonded Builders Warranty Group and that they would fix the flooring issues Mr. Cooper stated "that is what I pay them to do". Bounded Builders declined our claim as it was not their place to fix the issues and to date our floors are still flawed. We have records of numerous phone calls and messages to Mr. Cooper regarding repairing our flooring, but still to date, nothing has been done. We love our home, but are very disappointed with the quality of work regarding the flooring and the customer service Mr. Cooper has shown us. Mr. Cooper was aware of the problems for the length of a year ( now over a year), but never made an attempt to fix them! His website even states that "C. Cooper Custom Homes, Inc. agrees to warrant materials and workmanship for one (1) year;" Apparently they do not...
