Did not receive the amount of work which was advertised in the "deal". Only received 4 hours of work instead of the advertised 8.
We purchased a voucher on the website LivingSocial for 8 hours of painting for $250. The listed regular price was $500. We scheduled an initial consultation with the owner, [redacted], and explained what we wanted to have painted. During our initial meeting, Mr. [redacted] stated that he was not sure how the LivingSocial website worked and that his business had received quite a bit of interest from the advertisement. After the meeting, Mr. [redacted] e-mailed me a initial proposal for the work to be done. The initial proposal had a cost of an additional $250 in addition to the original $250 we had already paid to LivingSocial. When I contacted Mr. [redacted], he told me "not to worry about it". I have hard copies of both the LivingSocial ad and the initial proposal for verification.

The work was finally scheduled to be completed on 3/22. The painters arrived and the work began. When we arrived home, we were confused as to why half of our living/dining room was not painted. On Monday, 3/25, my wife contacted Mr. [redacted] who, for the first time, mentioned to my wife that we had paid for 2 guys to paint for 4 hours each. This was NEVER mentioned to us previously. Mr. [redacted]'s smug, unprofessional, and rude attitude towards my wife made the situation worse. He told my wife "to read the fine print" of the LivingSocial ad as well as the proposal he sent to us. We read it, and nowhere does it state anything about 2 painters for 4 hours. The ad states "8 hours of painting". Mr. [redacted] had ample opportunity to clarify this issue, especially after walking through our home and seeing what we wanted to have painted. He assured us that the work could be done in 8 hours.

Continuing on 3/25, Mr. [redacted] told my wife that we had requested "16-24 hours" of painting which could not have been completed in the original 8 hours. Again, this was brought up after the work was "done". Mr. [redacted] has ignored e-mail correspondence with me regarding this matter and has left me with no choice but to file a complaint.

Mr. [redacted] was eager and available via phone and e-mail leading up to the scheduled work date. Since 3/25, he has refused to respond to an e-mail which I state my displeasure with his misleading and deceptive business practices.
