C E Ready Mix

Review: We had a new driveway poured in March of 2012. It started flaking off a little bit in 2013 and is absolutely ruined now in 2014. It is pitted and looks awful. It was a lot of money to have this done and it looks worse than our original driveway we replaced. I've read where the quality of the cement was defective, possibly because of too much water in the mix. I called my contractor and he had 7 other customers with the same complaint. He tried to resolve the issue with the supplier, CE Ready Mix, and he got no cooperation at all. We also had the driveway sealed within weeks of installation to protect the cement, also costly. I called the owner of CE Ready Mix myself,on June 20,2014, to see if he would come look at my driveway and hopefully come up with a solution. He was rude and blamed salt, and hung up on me. We never used melting products on the driveway, nor did we ever use those products on our original driveway. Our original driveway had some cracks and we needed a larger driveway, but it was in better shape than the new one. We are getting the short end of the stick, so to speak, and it's not fair. My neighbors driveway was installed the same week as ours, if it was due to salt on our tires from the road, why isn't any one else in my neighborhood having problems? I believe the quality of the mix was compromised in some way and it wasn't supportive of the weight of the cars that caused it to degrade. We used salt on our driveway when I was growing up and our driveway was not effected in any way. A driveway should last more the 22 months, especially when we did everything the right way. We used no salt, or any melting products, and had it sealed.Desired Settlement: I want CE Ready Mix to be accountable for their product and take financial responsibility to replace my driveway, including labor. My contractor is a reputable business man in our community, and that is why we used him. He has been more than cooperative to try and resolve this issue but can't get his former supplier to cooperate. I think the company owes it to the consumer to provide a quality product, and when they don't, they should make it right.
