C & H Road Construction

C & H (gravel/ drive) presented to my home. [redacted] a representative of C & H talked alot, but evaded direct quote of services until he had already placed his product on the property. He stated he had finished a job locally with product left over. He first quoted $7 square ft. Then $8, then reversed again. Spoke with my husband via phone and confirmed estimate for drive at $700. When he finished using the product available and stated he would come back the following Monday to complete, we insisted that he provide full estimate prior to finishing. [redacted] kept stating he couldn't give us a price, even though it was obvious he did this for a living and presumably gave estimates daily in his line of [redacted] stated that the cost of what had been done was already in excess of $1,800. My husband and I argued this was over double of the original quote and he had someone measure via stepping up the drive and insisted he had covered over half the drive already. We could not get him to understand it didn't matter how much of the linear fottage he had covered he had still used the only the amount of product available to him. You can spread anything very thinly and it will cover more space, just not well. There are places on the drive that he considered covered that have grass and sink areas. I called to place complaint, but it was cell message box. I paid him $900 and told him that he could not come back to charge me more to finish the unfinished job.
