Response:

Hello, I am Christopher Taylor, I am the President, CEO of C Taylor Inc. DBA., I am the President, CEO of C and S Automotive. There are two vehicle's in reference to this complaint, I will be addressing them one at a time.

First, lets address the 2004 Honda Accord Coupe. This vehicle has actually been in the shop for over 6 months. Two months ago it was transported to our new shop location. When this vehicle first came in it was completely inoperatable. We performed diagnostics which determined that the vehicle needed its primary intake valves replaced and its main cylinder head replaced. The customer provided the master rebuild gasket kit and the cylinder head, but never purchased the intake valves that needed to be installed. In addition we where never given permission to purchase the intake valves either. The customer has two options for this vehicle.

Option 1: Purchase the intake valves, they will be installed and the motor will be reassembled. At which point the customer can pay the original invoice and pick up the car.

Option 2: They can pick up the car the way it sits after paying the storage ticket that has incurred from sitting on the lot.

Invoice attatched

Second, A 2004 Izuzu Axiom, which has been sitting on my lot for two months. This vehicle was sitting on the lot when we took over the new building. We where asked to diagonose why the vehicle had chargeing issues. We performed computer diagnostics and determined that the alternator is bad. We where never giving permission to go any further on this vehicle.

There is only one option for this vehicle.

Option: This vehicle has not been opened up for service and at this point we are unwilling to fix this vehicle due to an deliquent charge account. The invoice for this vehicle needs to be paid in full and the vehicle promptly picked up.

Thank you. Christopher Taylor C and S Automotive

Response:

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.this man was incarcerated about a month ago I was never aware that he was incarcerated he's trying to charge me storage fees for time that he was incarcerated the work that he claims that was done to the vehicles was never done to the vehicle these invoices that he has attached to the message are generated from his phone..... he has an app in which you generate them.... so he just made a these invoices the last attempt to pick up the vehicle was made a couple of days ago.... he called law enforcement and when they asked him to show any proof of invoices or Bills to us he cannot provide them at the time so these were just recently made

Regards,

Review: Around about April 20th I contacted [redacted] formerly at [redacted] off of Washing Street ext, concerning my car overheating, [redacted] informed me that they are no longer at that location and for me to bring it to her new location C & S Automotive with a 500.00 dollar deposit before they would look at it. The next day I contacted Ms Ann and she told me that her mechanic ([redacted]) said I need a water pump, so how long would that take, she stated a couple of days, 3 days later I called again to see if my car was ready, this is when [redacted] said you need other things done, such as a thermostat, and a radiator cap and [redacted] would have your car ready by the end of the week, well by the end of the week on Friday I called again and the car still was not ready, [redacted] started naming other things . I stated do not put or do anything else to my car because before I took it took yall it was only running hot and you stated that [redacted] said all I need is a water pump, and every time I call to check on my car you add more. I began to get upset now and ask to please put my car back together so I can pick it up, well another week went pass and [redacted] was still telling me oh your car will be ready today around 4pm. On May 5, 2014 my mother called to check on my car, speaking to [redacted] he stated that the car would be ready at 9pm that night because they was finishing up some minor work, at 9pm my mother and I decided to go up there instead of calling and check on my car and when we get there my car was still up on the lift and no one was working on it. My mother immediately spoke to [redacted] and asks for [redacted] cell phone number, which was not given to us, [redacted] called my mother back and she stated that the car will be ready no later than May 7, well that was another lie, it was not until May 10th when I got my car out of the shop, charging me $2,278.07 for work I did not ask them to do, just because they said I needed it done they did it and they guarantee all their work. My mother and I paid the money because I needed my car . On or around June 12th my car started jerking as I was driving and then eventually it started driving really slow, barely moving, the same day I made it to Isaacs repair shop 412 west 8th street, they kept it over night and the next day they called me and stated that I need to take the car back to whoever worked on it recently because they had mess up things in the engine and advised me not to drive it because it might not make it, after telling Isaacs repair who worked on my car, they said you been had, they have a reputation of ripping people off, especially females who do not know about cars. On June 13th I had to have it towed back to C&S automotive, again after a few days I called to check on my car, [redacted] immediately started giving me the run around again, now two weeks gone by, that is when [redacted] said; well you may need to get more engine work done, I then told them what the guy at the other shop said, that is when [redacted] said oh we can fix it if you buy a engine for $3.000 dollars and we will put it in for you for free, I said no I do not have any more money to give to you or [redacted] got upset and stated [redacted] I have been trying to help you out and I am doing the best I can, I have to make money that is why I change location and partner up with [redacted], we both was losing at one point, now business is good and if you dont get the engine, come get your car off our property or we will have it towed at your expensive, well I was unable to get my car towed back to my house until July 3rd.Desired Settlement: I would like to get a refund, so I may get another car. I have been without reliable transportation for about 3 months now and counting. I had a 2003 Jeep Liberty Limited with little or no problems that I have been driving for years until I took it to C&S Automotive Repair shop for overheating; now I am without a car and they are refusing to refund my money and refusing to fix the damage they cause. I told them that they have not heard the last from me; Ms. Ann said I am not worry.

On January 15th, 2014, I gave the owner of this business $2,300.00 to purchase an engine for me so that he could install it in my car. The owner claimed the engine would be delivered in no more than one week. About a month later, the owner tells me that the delivery truck carrying my engine was involved in an accident and that the company would send another one. So, I waited for another month or so and the engine had still not arrived. Almost one month ago, I gave up on waiting for my engine to arrive and requested that the owner just give me my money back. Of course, I have not received anything, not my engine nor my money back. Throughout this entire ordeal, the owner has not once contacted me, not even when the delivery truck supposedly wrecked he did not contact me with an update. I constantly have to contact this guy myself and practically demand updates as to what's happening with my money. At the end of March, I asked for my money back at which point the owner told me that he would contact the engine company and get my money back. So, I've been waiting and waiting for this guy to come through with my refund but he has not even contacted me with any information as to what's happening. Every time I call him and ask what's going on, he tells me that he'll contact the company and find out. However, I never hear from the guy again until I call him again, at which point he gives me the same run-around nonsense he's been giving me since day one.
