C-Town Painting Reviews (2)

Review: We contracted with [redacted] of C-Town Painting on 6/22/2012 to clean/power wash two small cedar decks, apply two coats of clear sealer to the same decks, apply two coats of clear sealer to two cedar benches, and to paint (white) two pillars on one of the decks. The job was done fairly well and in a timely manner. Our problem is as follows: The day after the job was completed we noticed black paint in a number of areas on our brick patio and driveway. How the black paint got on the brick is unknown to us; we know it wasn't there before the sealing job was started, however it was there when the job was completed. We believe the crew may have been working on another project or cleaning equipment from another project on our patio during the time they were also working at our address. Bad enough. I was not at home during the full length of their day-long project; I did not witness everything that the crew may have been working on that day.We have contacted [redacted] at least three times since the completion of the sealing project, the first immediately upon finding the paint stain. We have spoken with him twice and he has said that he would come and view the damage. He hasn't as yet, it has been 3 1/2 weeks since completion of the project, and our last call to him this week has gone unreturned.During the calls where we have spoken directly with [redacted], he has vehemently denied that he and his crew could be responsible for the black paint on the patio. Yet he refuses to come to the house and view the damage, and it is preposterous to think that somehow we are responsible for the paint stain because we hired HIM to PAINT for us.[redacted] and C-Town Painting refuse to acknowledge the damage we contend they caused to our patio and drive, and are failing to assume responsibility for their work--for better or for worse. Even worse than a poorly done job--which was not the case here--is the dishonesty of a contractor one thought one could trust.Desired Settlement: We would consider the complaint resolved if:1) [redacted] comes to view the damage on our patio and drive2) [redacted] and C-Town Painting acknowledge the damage and assume responsibility for it3) [redacted] and C-Town Painting repair the damage on their own time and at their own expense-- immediately
