I have had a one year renewable contract for garbage for the past 6 years. Five families pooled money for a dumpster. This past year my father-in law went to the nursing home and another family moved so we decided to no longer do the dumpster. When I attempted to not pay and renew the contract this company said that I could not terminate the contract without six months notice or payment of six months penalty. This has always been an atwill renewable contract, that we paid yearly. We would never lock-in for more than one year, since this company has raised the price each of the last three years. Furthermore the contract said the dumpster would be picked up on a weekly basis 52 pickups, during the year they missed 5 weeks only one of which they made up later, therefore I feel they owe me an extra month. Never was there any mention of a penalty for non renewal
