Unprofessional unethical - dont honor their contract
During 2019 we took the promotion test offered at the library by C2education and we enrolled at this place for 200hours for 12000$ for our twin boys sixth grade at that time. The sell was hard and we should have checked with other parents. It was a mistake. My kids started to attend their class twice weekly and for 2 hours a day and right away within weeks we saw that it was serving them no purpose. The teachers or our kids couldnt actually say what the curriculum was and what they were doing there. There was no homework no plan no tracking no nothing. We never got to meet teachers and we always go through the center director/staff and every conversion would lead to her pushing us to enroll for more hours. It was exhausting and it was unhelpful. Whenever we tried to bring lack of progress or get an idea of what they were learning and what is actually being taught they would ask us to swap and try diff subject since this wasnt yielding results. We did that couple of times and we gave up and said we would like to try math enrichment instead of SAT and again it yielded no results and my kids were wasting time there that could be spent wisely and productively on their hobby or somewhere else.
The classes were detrimental to their success and finally we decided to give up and ask them for refund. They cited their age as excuse and told us that we could take break and hours never expire and that we could cancel anytime. THEY NEVER SAID ANYTHING ABOUT 24 months or no refund. We took break and after couple of months and around COVID time I had been trying to call them and emailing them. The mails bounced back and none of my calls were returned. I tried walk-ins multiple times and the center was closed and no one was reachable. On top of all chaos it became full time job to track them or get hold of them. And I couldnt. Every 3-6 months I engage in trying to reach them and they were never reachable.

And around 2022 when my kids took SAT on their own and scored1580/1510 after almost years after quitting c2. So this time I wasn’t to give up and set my calendar reminders and tryign to get hold of them. Finally one person responded and she said that center is being taken over by diff staff or something and she would have someone reachout to me. And that never happened and again I was sending emails andcalling and leaving voice messages. And one time I was able to catch hold of someone when I made visit in person. usually it is locked and there would no response at all. And she gave me the Chicago district Edward Kim email. I emailed and waited for response. Nope. After repeat emails and repeat calls reached out to him through linked in and again he never responded to messages .After multiple emails and reminders and throwing in lawyer word – they responded saying they would have a meeting. we meet Donna on August 1 at the center at 2pm, the meeting wasnthelpful and really didnt like the patronizing tone and the language. She was calling me honey and said you signed the contract and there isa line that says you cant cancel after 24months.I told her that I was persuaded to take a break and promised that I could cancel anytime and hours wont expire by the previous director . She said yeah but you cancel or use those hours but you wont get moneyback. When I said that wasnt told and we were mislead. She said you signed the contract. And I said I had been trying to reach them for past 2-3 years and its been exhausting and email were bounching back and doors were closed and no one was answering phone. She said it was because of covid and they moved it online and their centers are closed for security purpose and they dont answer doors or walk-ins and I should have booked an appointment. I said calls werent returned and emails were bounching back - she said yeah because they had been having this 3 directors within short time and ofcourse their email wont work.
So, she basically acknowledged that they were unreachable for 2+ years and they mislead with cancellation skipping "no-refund" part and that we expressed our dissatisfaction with the program and how detrimental it was for our kids and there would be no use of C2 for us because our kids already have almost perfect scores which they managed to get on their own. And she turned condescending and was rude and asked us to leave and never come back and that we arent getting a penny back and I could contact a lawyer and she doesnt care about me sharing this awful experience with other parents or anyone.

So, please as a community library I am requesting you to not promote awful vulturesque places like this. If it werent for Nicholas library hosting this event we wouldnt have gotten enrolled in this place at all. Our library legitimized this establishment and gave them license to take advantage of our kid and parents hard earned money. Hoping to hear from you and any action item that could you could take to avoid future incidents like this. It not just loss of 12000$ but our kids confidence and grades deteriorated and only after quitting they were able to get back their success streak. And no parent and no community member deserves this kind of rude response and unprofessional experience

Wrong Refund Calculation and Not keeping their words for what they told during selling and contract
I have copy of all the emails and copy of the contracts that reflect what we had discussed and agreed when we purchased the hours for tuition. Now when asking for refund, they are doing calculation as per their calculator which is wrong, not allowing any adjustment for what we had agreed on and not accounting the correct number of used hours from the current contract. They refused for refund as per agreed and giving almost $1200 less than the fair amount calculation. Tried sending emails to corporate office also and nobody responded. Would not recommend anybody to sign any contract with C2 Education bases on my experience. So be careful!

I would not be surprised if C2 withers away like other businesses that do not cater to the needs of the people that are keeping them in business. It is ethically not right for C2 to package services that require parents to pay for tuition in advance and expect that they would not change their minds if they determine that what they bought isn't working for them. None of the parents who have complaints are asking for a refund of used tuition. What you are selling is not a product, it is a service so parents should be able to determine if they want to keep you as a service provider. Not having your refund policy on your website, tucking it neatly behind your application and not informing parents upfront about this policy is all a ploy to take what doesn't rightly belong to you. Don't you realize with time people will become aware of this and inform others not to deal with C2. If you won't refund tuition make it a point to be upfront about it and don't sell hours beyond fifty so that parents can either back out after fifty hours of instruction if they are not satisfied or buy more hours when they like it. This is so simple to fix as such it beats my imagination why the very smart people who created this business model haven't figured this out. I guess common sense isn't common after all. Businesses that break the trust of their customers never survive so the ball is in your court to correct this. The choice is yours, if you choose to ignore customer concerns then you are ignoring the people who keep you afloat and that would cost you dearly. For now, you may say well we have a binding contract that is tight and the lawyers to back it up. The flaw with this line of argument is that the contract and lawyers do not keep you in business, customers do. Wise up

I was told by the sales person I could sign my son up with 19 days to cancel for any reason. The model and times didn't fit so the next day I called back to cancel. I was then told a different story that they cant cancel the loan process. That it was cash only for the return policy mentioned and that it was a bank stipulation not theirs. I contacted the bank and told by the bank its actually a policy from the "Tuition Solution" -(C2) furthermore I was responsible for the reduces amount of 2,217.00. I will take this to my lawyer and RevDex.com as I have tried to talk them but obviously I was lied to. After looking up reviews for their policy I did find a number of other people with similar complaints. I don't have any positive feedback for liars.

How are you? I have read your email regarding the refund request and want to clarify the misunderstanding. We initially considered 200 hour program, but due to its higher price, your c[redacted]ce of selection was the price of 150 hour package at $ 8250.You have asked me for the bonus hours in order to match your budget and the timeline, and we have made a great exception for your child by giving him a 65 bonus hours in addition to his regular program. We called this our 'friendship bonus hours' during our meeting. Unfortunately, when a contract is broken, the bonus hours are taken away at the same time. Tution proration is a common practice by all major education institutions. Please see the back of your contract for the details. I truly hope this email helped you with our refund processing policy. I disagree** with the refund amount stated in your email as it contradicts our discussion with Miss K** at the time of signing up [redacted] for C2. This amount also contradicts the amount Mr C[redacted] referenced when I spoke to him on Tuesday -  10/20. When we applied for the C2 program on 5/28/15 the policies on the reverse / back of this form was not shared with us. We were told to complete and sign this document on 5/28/15 as an application for the C2 tuition service. We did not select or make a commitment or agreement on price or service ( tuition hours) on 5/28/15. On 5/28/15, this document was not presented to us as a contract; it was presented as an application. After we submitted an application on 5/28/15, my husband and I met with Miss K** on 6/6/2015, this time to go through the product list and pricing that was detailed on a laminated document. It was during this m**ting that we opted for the 215 hours tuition plan. Miss K** informed us that with the C2 program we had to pay in advance for the hours in the plan we've opted for. We informed Miss K** that we did not have the money to pre-pay $8250 for the 215 hours. Miss K** informed us that we could apply for tuition payment credit and that if we were approved we could accept it or deny it.  We expressed concern about pre-paying for services we had not received and at this time Miss K** informed us that if we decide to withdraw our child from C2 before all the hours are used up, we would receive credit for the unused hours multiplied by the purchased hourly rate. We agreed to apply for the credit, so Miss K** entered our details in a C2 credit application system on her computer. Miss K** then submitted our application for the tuition credit; we were approved for the credit. I would like to point out that the C2 application which is dated on 5/28/15 did not include the hours or amount.  The tuition amount of $8250 and 215 hours was added to the form after we had signed the form as an application. I am considering my options in this matter and I will get back to you soon.Sincerely,[redacted]On Saturday, October 24, 2015 11:18 AM, C2 Council <[redacted]> wrote:Good Morning Mrs. [redacted],It was an absolute pleasure to m**t you by phone  yesterday afternoon!  Thank you so much for sharing your experience.  I apologize for any difficulty you have experienced.  As we discussed, I have attached the contract for [redacted].  Please review the back of the contract as it relates to the refund.Based on our calculation you have used 74.5 hours which is 34% of the total hours purchased (215 hrs)Our policy suggests the refund amount is 35% of the total amount $8250.00 which equals $2,887.00.Please review the attached document and let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns.  Ms K** and I will be happy to meet with you in person at the Gainesville Center on Friday, October 30th @ 1:00pm for further consideration of this matter.Warmest Regards,Shelia C[redacted]Managing DirectorC2 Education###-###-####[redacted]
