CalAuctions has been a consistent source of inventory for my businessI've enjoyed their professionalism during the item inspectionsThe ower, Jason Hanks, is a fair and equitable business manHe makes himself available to those who reach out to him and returns calls when he's not availableI highly recommend CalAuctions for the casual auction buyer as well as the business professional

Cal auctions listed an item for sale in their Father Joes Villages auction in early AugustThe auction house listed the item as an Ames model calvary officers sword I placed the winning bid on the item however when my representative went to pick it up she looked closely at the item and contacted me before accepting it as she was concerned it may be a forgeryAfter she sent me close up pictures of the makers mark I was able to determine it was a fakeI let them know I was not going to accept the item as it was misrepresentedThe woman agreed and said my money would be refunded within hoursWhen it was not I contacted the owner who stated that because my representative had signed for it he would not refund the moneyShe was required to electronically sign the receipt prior to seeing the invoice or the item in questionThe owner waited days before disputing my credit card charge back so he can try to fraudulently sell the sword again

Great Customer Service & Great Products!!! A++++++++++++++

Here is the listing of the item:
KNIVES AMES MODEL UNITED STATES NAVY NAVAL OFFICERS SWORD AND LEATHER SCABBARDBRASS IS BEAUTIFULLY POLISHED AND HILT IS WRAPPED IN LEATHER
GOOD CONDITIONCustomer chose not to come to the days of live inspection to view for himself We did not attempt to authenticate this lot All of these items are donated to a local charity in which we sell on consignment for them
We explained that the time to inspect was before you bid per our terms:
6. Bidder’s Duty to Inspect and Investigate: You acknowledge that the Auctioneer is providing you with the opportunity to inspect the items being offered for sale in this auction. The Auctioneer strongly encourages you to attend the scheduled inspection for this auction If you choose not to attend the scheduled inspection and are in doubt about the condition, completeness or suitability of a given item, please bid accordinglyPhotographs and Descriptions: The Auctioneer regularly posts item descriptions and photographs to aid bidders in the bidding process, and we make every effort to ensure that the descriptions and photographs that we post accurately represent the items being offered for sale. In some photographs, multiple items may appear to be joined as a single unit, however you should not assume that a lot consists of more than one item simply because various items appear connected or are featured in the same photograph. Also understand that, on occasion, the wrong photograph may be displayed for a given item. At all times, you are bidding on items as they are described on this website, not as they appear in any photograph
When I called the customer to discuss he immediately started to curse and yell so I chose to not communicate with him The sword is still sitting in our office awaiting his pickup
At this point even though the credit card company ruled for us and we have the payment - we have decided to issue the refund
Mr *** has been disabled and we will never be doing business with him again

It's was a great experience to bid at the online auction, here on CalAuctions[dot]com. I bought some office furniture and it was exactly as described. They sent the invoice to my email after the auction and we sent a mover to go and pickup our stuff. After the cost of moving we still got a great deal on some really nice furniture. Would definitely recommend and will be bidding again...Many Thanks!

Review: Cal Auctions results far exceeded expectation because he has been using shell bidders. He has admitted to bidding on or having people bid on his behalf on auctions he is running. Today after an auction closed, he gave items a way to the party that had been in bankruptcy in direct violation of the California rules governing auctioneers and federal bankruptcy. Also after he has received full payment the item are not his property thus he has no right to dispose of or give away. His ethics are questionable at best. For this reason this will be the last time I will business with him. I expect good returns; however, this behavior is unethical and posibly illegal. I plan to move forward with the DA office.

Shilling: Artificially inflating the price on an item by use of fake bids from phony user IDs or accomplices. Black's Law Dictionary, 5th ed. (2nd defintion) defines Puffing as; "Term also describes secret bidding at an auction by or on behalf of a seller." See Feaster Trucking Service, Inc. v. Parks-Davis Auctioneers, Inc. 211 Kan. 78, 505 P.2d 612, 617. The UCC prohibits the practice and is federal law.Desired Settlement: We want to mention right off the bat that the vast majority of sellers and buyers at online auctions are honest people, and deliver on their promises. but he is not and need to return all in gotten gains I calculat it to be more than $1000.00 to date.

Response:

Mr [redacted] approached us regarding the food that was being taken away from premises when he arrived. He was able to take as much of the fresh food as he wanted and was satisfied when he left. (I thought)

I have bought desktop computers, and some office furniture online from this company. Everything is well photographed, and I was very satisfied with the products. The stuff even seemed cleaned before it was shipped, which was great! The prices were very fare, and competitive. This is not the only online auction house I have purchased from, so I am quite opinionated. The shipping was very prompt, and everything was over padded, no risk of in-transit braking. Would purchase again, and recommend.
