Review: This is BOTH a SERVICE and a CONTRACT issue.Service Issue: I attended a "Basic Rider Course" on Saturday, October 5th of 2013 at 11:30 am at the VA Medical Center in Los Angeles. Not only was I upset with the quality of the instructor, I was also humiliated and refused a second chance to resume the class , which is both in the contract and was verbally agreed upon with my professor and attorney [redacted], Esq. My instructor acknowledged from the beginning of class that because of my height and stature (5.1 and 118 lbs) that it would take me extra time to get used to the heavy weight of the bike and also because it was my first time mounting one. Yet 30 minutes into the class, she pulls me aside and tells me that I do not have proper balance and control of the bike and that I have to be counseled out. I asked to try the exercise one last time and she denied me the opportunity stating that there was no use; if I havent gotten it by now, another try wasnt going to make a difference. I then pleaded with her to transfer me to a scooter, which is the reason why I signed up for this class, which was to commute from my apartment to UCLA on a 125cc Lance Scooter. She refused stating once again, its not going to make a difference. She furthermore refused to answer any of my questions throughout the 30 minutes by saying that the class demo would answer all my questions and that I was thinking too much over and over again in front of my peers, which is not exactly the most helpful thing to say in that situation. Even so, I cannot imagine a time when thinking too much was a bad thing especially when one is attempting to take every precaution to proceed safely. Nevertheless, she made it very clear that she had no patience for me and got angry with me several times for asking for clarification, which she would then cut me off by saying once again your thinking too much and expected me to go ahead with the exercise.(This is an excerpt from a letter that was emailed)Desired Settlement: Contract Issue: I signed a contract that allowed me to re-take the class in 90 days. As a graduate student at UCLA applying to law school, I explained that I was not going to return in 90 days and will need an extension. I had my professor and certified attorney, [redacted], call and attest to my situation and a verbal agreement was reached.
