California Style Photo Booth

Review: On October 12, 2013, I wrote a check to one of their employees, [redacted], in the amount of $300.00 for the deposit of their photobooth for my wedding, in addition to signing a contract with them. Two weeks before my wedding, on June 14, 2014, I had yet to hear anything from their company regarding personalization of photobooth and photo strips so I emailed them. One of their employees, [redacted] of general operations manager, replied to me and told me I needed to sign a contract. I replied that I had already sent them the contract 8 months prior, and then I resent them the contract. [redacted] told me that the original employee, [redacted], gave me the incorrect contract and that he was fired. He told me I had to sign a new contract, which also had new terms that I did not agree to (and was not on the original contract). I expressed my concerns with [redacted] about the hesitation of signing a new contract.

On June 17, 2014, [redacted] (or some other employee. No name signed in email) informed me that he rented out our photobooth and processed the refund as of June 16, 2014 from corporate level, which would take a few weeks. After our wedding, I emailed them back and asked for a receipt, since I did not receive the refund. On July 3, 2014, the owner of the company, Mark Jeffries, emailed me back and told me that our refund was not approved, and that the deposit was non-refundable since I did not want to abide by the new contract. He told me he was not going to respond to me anymore.

This company not only rented out my photobooth, but denied me the refund that their employee, [redacted], told me was being processed.Desired Settlement: I would like our refund of $300.00

Review: I met California Style Photo Booth in January of 2013 at the San Diego Bridal Bazaar. They had a flier at their both stating that for $499 I would receive- 5 hours unlimited photos/videos- 2 attendants- Videos/photos on thumb drive- Personalized Sign for Event- Guestbook of photos. My wedding took place on may 25th 2013. After the wedding [redacted], the owner of the photo booth, requested my home address so that he could send me the digital copies of all my videos and pictures. After a month we started calling him and we were told various answers such as the hard drives he had ordered we on back log. We offered to buy our own and send it to him just so we could get our pictures and videos. After that offer he stopped returning all our phone calls. For the passed 5 months we have been calling and we finally go through to him on 1/21/14. He was extremely rude and told my husband that his IT guy had already emailed us our pictures and then hung up on him. We have received nothing. My husband tried to call him right back and was repeatedly sent to voice mail. We have paid everything he was owed. All we want now are the memories we were promised.Desired Settlement: We want all of our pictures and videos.

[I see the company still has their active Facebook page up online. They are also still connected with a link to the San Diego bridal bazaar. Also regardless of them going out of business that still doesn't explain why I cannot just have my pictures back. ]
