Dear Revdex.com, After investigating Mr***’s complaint I found, that his oil leak is coming from the camshaft end plugThe camshaft end plug is located behind the camshaft pulley inside the timing cover This is not a part of the engine we altered while repairing the customer’s vehicleAlthough we made Mr [redacted] a deal in good faith, to fix it for just around $this four times lower the retail rate as he has been a long term customer of ours Please let me know if any additional information is needed [redacted] II District Manager

On 04/21/16, Mr [redacted] signed a confidential release and settlement agreement As per that agreement, $was refunded to his credit card and he released the company from all future claims

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the responseIf no reason is received your complaint will be closed Administratively Resolved] Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:I did have front end damage to the vehicle upon arrival to the shopBut it was only to the bumper cover and the driver's side head lightMy grill was not brokeI have pictures to show that the damage to my bumper and headlight are not consistent with the damage to my grillI went to them and asked for a diagnostic on the truckUsually, when you get a diagnostic they have a list of things that need repair and ask me what I want them to doI previously had a diagnostic done at another Calvert's location and they told me that I needed a windshield wiper motorI could not afford the work at that timeI have paperwork stating thisAt the Jennings location they gave me no paperwork stating what I needed done after their diagnostic checkNor did they mention a radiator hose leak and this is the first time I've heard this myselfNow my truck is running hot within min of driving and it was not doing that beforeI am not doing this to try to get over on these people I just want what was messed up fixed Regards, [redacted]

Dear Revdex.com:I have investigated Mr [redacted] ' complaint personally and it seems to boil down to a case of bad communicationMr [redacted] originally wanted Calvert's Express to install a set of entry level Monro matic struts on his vehicle and that is what we quoted him on the phone Once Mr [redacted] arrived at our [redacted] location, or manager informed this customer of his options as far as the struts available for his vehicle and it was our manager's understanding that Mr [redacted] wanted to upgrade to the better level of struts from Monroe, Sensa trac strutsThese struts are the top of the line struts offered by Monroe and are generally considered to be a factory or better quality strut We then installed these Sensa trac struts on this customer's vehicle then reset the alignmentWe are willing to take full responsibility for this communications mix up and make it 100% right with Mr [redacted] That would involve Mr [redacted] bringing his vehicle back to our [redacted] (or any of our St .Louis area locations) and leaving his vehicle for the dayWe will replace the struts we previously installed with new Monro matic struts that Mr [redacted] prefers, then reset the alignment and refund him the $differenceThis will get him back to the parts and price he was originally quotedI do apologize for this misunderstanding and assure you that I have reviewed the Calvert's Express company policies we have in place that eliminate these misunderstandings with all of my managers at this locationMr [redacted] is welcome to call me at any time to set up this work at a location and day of his choosing so that we can make this repair right and re-earn his trust in my companyThank you again for the opportunity to correct this situation Sincerely, [redacted] PresidentCalvert's Express Auto Service and Tire ###-###-####

Calvert's Express performed work on my Dodge Journey and neglected to tighten bolts on my calipers resulting in a bolt flying off while traveling 2hrsfrom home! I have asked for labor cost back in the amount of 307.00! they have offered a in store credit in the amount of However I will not be taking my vehicle back to them! Sincerely [redacted] / [redacted]

On 2-16- [redacted] checked her vehicle in for service at our shop located at [redacted] in Kansas City, Ks Ms [redacted] stated "My vehicle is leaking antifreeze and overheating" Upon our inspection of the vehicle it was noted that there was no coolant in the car prior to serviceUpon diagnosis we determined her vehicle needed a water pump and head gasketThe customer chose to do a water pump repair but declined the head gasket repairThe vehicle would not start after the water pump repair was performed due to the cylinders in the engine filling with coolant as a result of the head gasket having failed to keep the water out of the combustion chambers and hydro-locking the engineHydro-locking occurs when an engine has antifreeze leaking into the cylindersThe antifreeze will not explode as fuel does in the engine and will not pass through the exhaust since it is non-combustible and preventing the engine from turning overThis condition was not present prior to the water pump replacement as it had no coolant in the system to hydro lock the engine Although we sympathize with Ms [redacted] ’s situation we should not be held accountable for the cost of a new engine since we notified the customer of the head gasket repair which she declinedThank you for your time and attention, Sincerely, [redacted] **, District Manager, Calvert's Express Auto Service and Tire

Dear Revdex.com, We did a tune up and a wiper motor at the customer’s request The lower radiator hose was leaking as well and we repaired that at no charge The wiper motor was not diagnosed by us, the customer had requested it When she brought the car back we diagnosed the switch at no charge to her when it is usually a $diagnostic fee As far as the damage to her vehicle, we documented on our paperwork that she had front end damage prior to service If she would like to buy a grill we will install it for her but we are not responsible for doing the damage Thank you, Robert R [redacted] (District Manager)

I have spoken to the district manager responsible for the location Ms [redacted] visited He has spoken with the shop manager and the technician who completed the repairs on her vehicle I can assure you that the work was performed on her vehicle for which she was invoiced I do apologize that Ms [redacted] felt our staff spoke to her in a rude manner In order for a technician to determine the cause of a noise, he has to hear it When she brought her vehicle back to us, the technician did not observe anything wrong with her brake pads or rotors.We would be more than happy to warranty all of the parts that we replaced to satisfy Ms [redacted] if she would be satisfied with thatMs [redacted] has a lifetime warranty on her brake pads and a month or 12,mile warranty on her brake rotors

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the responseIf no reason is received your complaint will be closed as Assumed Answered] Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: the response is incorrectwhen I called to get a quote for a converter it was before my car started making noiseWhen I brought my car to you I informed you on what my car was doing which was shaking and acting as though it was going to stopWhat I said was " The last time I checked the light it said the converter but I wasn't sure", the guy who I spoke with said " It like your car is choking and that it sounded like an converter and said her was going to find out" However they did not try to fix the problem of the shaking they just assumed it was the converterI called the same day when I made it home because my car was doing the same thing, the guy said bring it back they was going to check it outI brought it back, the next day they claimed it was misfiresMy question was why wasn't it told to me that two codes popped, why wasn't I the one making the decision on rather or not to fix the converter over the misfiresWhat I was confused the most about was if you are a shop who fix auto repair, and you knew misfires and the converter popped, They should have known that fixing the converter first didn't make any since because the misfires would just ruin the converter and I would have never agreed to doing the converter over the misfires but I was not told about the misfires until after I brought my car backThan after taking to the district manager ( He was just as rude as his workers, and automatically assume what his workers said was correct before even listening to me) but agreed to only fixing the two of the spark which they assumed was causing the problemThe next day the guy called and said it was the engineI had my car towed to another auto repair shop who did a full diagnostic on my car and find out that nothing they said was wrong with my car was true, there was nothing wrong with my engineThey didn't know what was wrong with my car when I dropped, and should have said that instead of taking my money and finding every excuse not to give me money backAgain "I DO NOT" recommend this place to no oneThe reviews are horrible( which I would have read the before dropping my car off) the have a C and not even accredited through the Revdex.com which that don't surprise me at all Regards, [redacted]

Dear Revdex.com, Christine [redacted] brought her Chrysler PT cruiser with 129,miles into our [redacted] location for an oil change on November 5th That is the only record we have of her at any of our Calvert's Express Auto Service centersHer accusation of us damaging her vehicle is just not trueIf we would have stripped out the drain plug then how did the plug stay in place since last November? Unfortunately her vehicle along with most vehicles built in the last years came with an aluminum oil pan in an effort to shed weightThe bad thing about the aluminum oil pans is that they have a tendency to crack and to wear out the drain plug threads due to aluminum not being nearly as strong and durable as the steel oil pan that it replacedI am truly sorry [redacted] is upset with us and I really believe she thinks we damaged her oil pan but the facts do not support her claimAs I told [redacted] there is a reason her aluminum oil pan is in stock everywhereThat reason is that they are in demand and replaced quite oftenWe offered [redacted] 20% off the needed repair and that offer still stands Sincerely, [redacted] ***, General Manager, Calvert's Express Auto Service

To clarify, it is my daughter who has been scammed by Calvert's Auto She is a minor, years of age, still living at homeShe has been sadly taken advantage of by this sloppy "fix" job that Calvert's did, which cost her $1,+ just to put glue to seal the transmission and oil leaks different times Like I mentioned in the original complaint that I sent out for my daughter, this only made the problem worse and did not fix the initial problem
