Review: I purchased a 1999 VW Beetle from Cambridge Auto on 9/20/2013 and that same day the engine light came on. I took the car back the following morning and they replaced the spark plug wires at no cost. On 11/9/2013, my power steering fluid started leaking and within an hour it completely drained out. I had it looked at by a mechanic from a different car repair shop and I was informed that Stop Leak had been put in the power steering lines. I also was having problems with my brakes and got a flat tire, which I then found out that there wasn't a spare in the car. I contacted Cambridge Auto on 11/11/2013 and took the car to them to look at. I was quoted a price of $750 for the power steering problem and they denied putting Stop Leak in the Power Steering. I was not told about what the cost of the other items would be. I was given a 1998 Chrysler Concorde as a loaner, which [redacted] had to put coolant in prior to me taking it. It has some type of transmission problem I think, so I was given an unsafe and unreliable loaner car. I have been calling Cambridge Auto and requesting to have my money back or for them to fix it for free. I keep getting [redacted] who tells me he is busy and will call me back. I did talk to Chanel in their sales office who told me that they talked to their State Representative and they were told to have me file a law suit. The name of their supposed "State Representative" they gave me was actually the name of a person at DOT. I am unable to get an answer from Cambridge Auto and all I want is my money back from their unethical business. I am a single mom who travels around the state for my job and I was sold a car with issues that were not disclosed when I bought it and the loaner I was given is unreliable.Desired Settlement: I want a full refund of $2,800 for the price I paid for the car. This does not include the taxes or licensing that I paid. I also want this handled in a timely manner because I do not want to be driving around in an unsafe and unreliable vehicle.

To whom it may concern,

Miss. [redacted] did purchase a 1999 VW Beetle on the date stated for the amount of 2800.00. Before the purchase she asked about any warranty we offered. I, [redacted], stated we offer warranty for sale but all used cars are sold as is. I did tell her that we stand behind our vehicles and we would try to assist her anyway possible if a issue arose with the vehicle. We backed up that notation when she brought the vehicle back stating a check engine light had came on. In good faith we decided to help her and repair the vehicle free of charge. It is my believe after that happen then it turned into a free for all to get things on the house. She returned a short time later stating that she has a huge puddle of power steering fluid pouring out of her vehicle. That seemed mighty strange considering that leaks of that nature don't just happen rapidly. We would have seen that much of a leak when she brought it in for the check engine light as well as she would have. She claims to have taken the vehicle to another shop, which she has no statement from, claiming that we put stop leak into the power steering lines. Power steering stop leak is only designed to treat leaks in seals and not used to repair larger leaks. Putting power steering stop leak in lines or hoses is useless. We never put stop leak in any form into her vehicle because there was no power steering issues in our possession and she never complained about one until that day. We only provided an estimate for her telling her what the problem is that same day. We offered to pay for the vehicle again. She refused. As far as the loaner situation that has nothing to do with the vehicle purchase, but to address it, again she is complaining in the mist of us trying to help her. If she wanted a BMW for a loaner then she should have gone to an exotic dealership to purchase a vehicle. This is a clear cut case of a person trying to work the system to retain a free car. We are not refunding any money to her. It was sold as is. We offered to fix the problem free of charge once more and she refused stating she want to get a lawyer. We contacted our state Dot inspection agent [redacted], not a state rep as she stated. He advised us that we are not in the wrong and to let her file the charges if she choses to. We are not going to be bullied by a person wanting something for nothing. No refund.

Review: I went in a bought a 2004 chevy truck ,leaving the parking lot I seen service engine light came on, so I turned around in the lot and said they checked it out and said it was misfire. if the light came on again they would check it out. I took it in that Monday and they told me we have to get a part. Friday it would be ready. Then they called Friday. It still wasn't done. A week later the truck was still there. They told me the camshaft needed replacing ,they would only charge me 1400.00 to fix it. I said "no" ,I want a refund. I drove the truck 2 weeks , it only has 104,610 miles ,there is no reason a camshaft should need replacing. If that went something else is wrong with the engine too. Then they said the owner will call you. He never did. so I called [redacted] , he said come in on Saturday ,I will have a check for you. I went in Saturday, He said ,I need to get a bill of sale ,I never had anyone want a refund. Two weeks later I still have not heard from him and I have no vehicle . I cannot get another one till I get that money and he will not answer his phone . This has went one for 4 weeks now. The owner I still have not heard from. I have never dealt with such poor service and customer service. I need my money back now!!Desired Settlement: I want a full refund back from this truck today !
