Review: I was referred to **. [redacted] by a mutual contact so I trusted him. He started off respectful and professional, but as time went on he became a money-hungry scam artist. He gave me a hard when I gave him a check from my credit union. I stuck to my check payment, so we settled on using a bank where we both frequent. He came over performed half the work (including a half way roof job) leaving a huge mess behind (front overhang fallen apart, black spots on the artificial carpet, nails...all over the yard, etc.) Well, it's been two months and the front of my house is still looking a mess, etc. Every time I called him, it seemed like he was doing me a favor by doing his job or like he was annoyed. I tried to work out a schedule with him, but after receiving all my money, he became very difficult. I asked him several times to give me a write up of what was done and the costs. He said ok and to this day, I still don't have any paperwork. When I called him today to see if he could come over on Monday so we could resolve the issues and that I didn't want to put the check under the rug, he told me to get someone else to do it and he hung up. I called him back twice and he refused to answer the phone. Now, I've spent over $1,000 and still have to pay someone else to clean up his mess and complete the work that wasn't done. I'm so upset by the way he's done business. I'm glad I didn't put another check for $200 under the rug because he's not trustworthy. Now, I still have to pay a contractor to finish fixing the roof and the inside closet.Desired Settlement: I want him to return my house to the condition it was in before he showed up. Clean up his mess (black spots on carpet, fix the overhang he tore apart, the fence he messed up). I also paid him to fix the inside of my closet. I believe he over charged me so I want $300 returned so I can pay someone else to finish his job if he can't finish it.
