Carolina Custom Kitchen & Bath Reviews (1)

CCK&B has been non communicative throughout the entirety of our business agreement. Their work has also presented severe quality and safety issues. CCK&B provided tops and aprons at [redacted] in Wilmington. The apron in the unisex bathroom fell off and shattered. The aprons in the other bathrooms present a safety hazard and a severe quality issue as well. [redacted] was notified of this issue on 10/29/13 via email. After multiple emails demanding an answer, on 11/5/13 via email [redacted] said he would have somebody repair the apron the week of 11/18/13. This did not happen, and [redacted] had to hire another fabricator to make the repairs. Still to this date no representative from CCK&B has inspected the other aprons to ensure that they are secured properly. [redacted] believes this is very important as an innocent person could become seriously injured.CCK&B provided tops at [redacted] works in Wilmington, NC. Throughout the entire project CCK&B failed to perform work in a timely manner, respect the schedule, communicate, or honor scheduling commitments. The architect, contractor, owner and [redacted] all have issues with CCK&B's performance and installed product. Per the architects' punch list all of the seams are unacceptable. [redacted] was made aware of this via email on 8/5/13, and 11/15/13. No representative from CCK&B has come to look at the issues. Since then, [redacted] had representatives from other fabricators look at the issues. Their conclusion is that some of the work can be repaired, while at least half will have to be re-fabricated. [redacted] has paid CCK&B in full for all work they have performed. It is totally unfair, unethical and unprofessional that there is a struggle for communication, representation, and performance. Desired Settlement[redacted] believes CCK&B should stand behind their work. CCK&B should immediately replace the defective work that does not meet industry standard, and repair the work that is salvageable. If they are not able to do so, then CCK&B shall take full financial responsibility for the cost of another fabricator making the repairs and replacing defective work. Business Response /[redacted] - I agree there is a miscommunication in regards to the [redacted] did make us aware that there was 1 apron that had fallen. We are 2 hours away and we did tell them that we would replace this apron. When we said we were coming to fix them, [redacted] stated they had already been repaired. We are happy to come to [redacted] and inspect and secure the aprons next week - the week of 1/13 to ensure that everything will stay secure. [redacted] - WE did respect the [redacted] schedule with the countertop project. There were many changes and questions along the way which did cause delays on the fabrication side of things. The first notification about the seams was 11/15. This is something that will take time to fix and there was not enough time between Thanksgiving and Christmas. We did stop responding when [redacted] said they had someone from [redacted] addressing the seams. We are happy to give a 10k credit back to [redacted] for another company to correct what they would like fixed with the seams as they have already mentioned another company fixing this.Final Consumer Response /[redacted] will settle for a documented inspection of the remaining work at [redacted] and reimbursement for the repair work done by [redacted] and [redacted] ($75.00).[redacted] will settle for CCK&B to pay [redacted] for the items to refabricated ($7117.00), and for the polishing and regrinding which shall be done on a time and materials basis. By no means would both items exceed $10,000 total. [redacted] will provide proposals/invoices to support this, subsequently for immediate payment from CCK&B.
