Before I scheduled my appointment for the Women's Wellness Clinic, I asked my insurance company about whether or not I was entitled to a free yearly visit. They had informed me I was, so I called the Women's Wellness Clinic to schedule an appointment. I asked them on the phone if I would be able to have my free visit as outlined by my insurance agency, which they told me I would be able to, so I told them to schedule my appointment.When I arrived for my appointment, I was escorted back to the exam room. At this point now they had informed me because I was a [redacted] that they would not be doing one part of the examination. I asked how this impacted my office visit in terms of price, and they told me they didn't know, it would show up on my bill. However this did not give me any chance to get out of the situation because I was already being charged now for something I did not agree to.I received the bill for $197 about a month later and went into the office to dispute the bill with the office manager and nurse. However, they stated because I was a [redacted] I was not able to have the free visit, and then they had changed the line item for the reason for the visit as a result. Therefore, I was billed nearly $200 for an office visit that lasted about 5 minutes and I left.While I was describing my case, the office manager was rolling her eyes and completely being disrespectful. I requested that they switch the filing on their end but they refused. I requested a discount but they refused. The manager said she would talk to the doctor and give me a call, but she never did. I tried following up with the office but the nurse would not allow me to talk to the manager or the doctor. I explicitly told them I just wanted the routine check-up and that I did not want service if it was not covered by my insurance. Therefore, I would like my debt to be removed.
