The owner had a 2010 charger that I was interested in buying. I called him about it since I was out of town for work. He said that it was in great condition and that it is in great shape for only $10,000. Perfect. We set up a time so I could test drive it. The car was in pretty horrible condition. The brakes squealed, the shocks were in bad shape, the front passenger's side tire was loose, and the car was in major need of an alignment because it pulled right really badly. And the interior was in just as bad. As soon as I opened the door I could smell smoke even though he tried very hard to cover it, it didn't work. There were cigarette burns on upholstery and the rearview mirror was even yellowed from the amount of smoking the previous owner did in it. The ceiling was extremely stained, as were the back seats.
Still interested in buying it, just not for that price, I started to mention the smoke smell and in the middle of my sentence the owner immediately threw his hands up and walked off without a word. The gentleman from the financing company he works with just happened to be there and asked if I wanted him to send the car's info over to see what kind of rates I could get. To which the owner walked over and told him not to because he didn't want to do anything more for me. Then, he turned to me and actually started yelling at me for wasting his time and said that I "pissed him off" even though I only took it for a test drive. I'm appalled that he treated me that way when I was only respectful to him and was even still interested in the car.
The car needed a little work and therefore wasn't worth the asking price. I was willing to do the work to get it into better shape but the owner, himself, was extremely rude to his customer. I will not be going back to him ever.
