The reason the $200 was not payed was due to the car not being fixed correctly, and going right back in the shop just as soon as I got it back with now another problem due to the original problem done incorrectly! I had taken the car to [redacted] to be inspected, which cost another $315 His name is [redacted], and the inspection proves that the Timing Chain was assembled incorrectly, which has caused the damage! It is 1 crank tooth off, multiple valves are too tight! (No backlash No clearence) Etc. I have the whole list of the problems due to previous repair! I payed for a job to be done, and it was not done correctly! This is no couple hundred dollar mistake that I can brush off, and forget about! This has cost me $4,000 more than it should have is why I must take this course of action! I originally had taken the car to a repair shop where I was told No he will not touch it, due to the manner of experience it would take to fix it! He said he didnt want to be held liable for any mistakes that could happen, and I should take it somewhere else, and which is what I did! My pap told me to take it here, and I'm not saying Curtis doesn't know what he was doing, but he could have said the same thing to me as well, but a mistake was made, and I got proof, and statement from professional dealership, and now have come to find out that I was possibly lied to saying the reason car keeps shutting off WHILE DRIVING! (I will add it shut off on me on interstate 81 the other day) so the danger is there, and must be fixed immediately but this mistake has taken all of my money making me a hazard on the rd) But I was told it was the BATTERY being disconnected for sometime needed time to reboot the computers memory til it made correct idol! I went to 3 different repair shops, and ALL 3 TOLD ME IT WAS A LIE, and now that I think of it! If he knows he made a mistake, and was lying to me trying to pass the damage repairs on me which is now another $1500 to fix properly
or more possible damage can occur! I find this extremely disrespectful, and unprofessional! I did nothing wrong! I payed for my car to be fixed, and I expected it to be fixed, but now I am going through all this hassel, time, and money, that I have no choice, but to take this to court! The car obviously still does not work properly, and got the statement, and proof from a dealership that it was done incorrectly! If you would like to confirm this you can contact [redacted] at [redacted] ###-###-#### Ext. [redacted]..... I am willing to work on an agreement to where My car WILL get fixed correctly BY [redacted] and total repair costs be payed for by Chambersburg Auto Repairs which will total the outstanding damage costs to around $3700 OVER original repair cost with a standard set refund of $3100... That will cover the final repairs, and damage caused by original repair which I will still be taking a loss of nearly $600-$700 out of my pocket, and I will erase the claim against Chambersburg Auto Repairs! If agreement cannot be made! I will take this to court for full near $4000 plus court costs, and due to the nature of my experience with Chambersburg Auto Repair (IF) possible will also take to court the damage that was caused to my grandmothers brand new car being in an accident on the very day the dispute was made, and NEVER would have happened if the car was fixed correctly the first time, nor would have happened when I said I was coming back with the rest of the money 2 days later as I said I was going to do, and write a letter about my experience to editor in the public opinion if I find out I was lied to about the battery of my car being the problem!! ALL IN ALL I PAYED FOR A JOB TO BE DONE! A MISTAKE WAS MADE BY REPAIRER! REPAIR SHOP SHOULD BE HELD LIABLE FOR DAMAGE! THIS HAS COST ME A TOTAL OF $6000 NOW!!!! This is the truth and is unfair to me!!

Yeah for some reason I dont have a receipt for that $750 either, but I sure did give $750 to my PAP that told me thats what I was supposed to give him to give to you for the bill to Minors for the bottom head swap! and I'm sorry ,but I refuse to take my car to that garage furthermore! It was not the greatest experience! I've had too many problems every time I got my car back which resulted in more and more and more money! I need my Car fixed to its original working condition and its going to be another $1000 plus tax plus the $315 more I had already paid to have inspected to find out what was causing the problem which happens to be its out of time that I had already paid for to be put on' and is getting worse, but am now completely flat broke! Everything is gone! Was also told after the 1st original fix that it was so out of time that [redacted] says they are surprised it even starts, and is most likely the reason that caused the wrist pin on bottom of head to come loose due to the off timing issue which resulted in another bottom head from another [redacted] which was supposed to be the $750 plus the labor on top which was another $1129.09 after the original bill of $2202.45 ,and is now going to be another $1000 plus tax to fix the original First job CORRECTLY plus the $315 it cost to find out that was the problem! My total bill should have been just $2202.45, but ended up having to pay an additional $1129.09, $315, and the $750 I gave to my grandpa which ill be asking where that money went to, and the $1000 more plus tax its going to be to RE DO the job that was already done, but done correctly which makes my outstanding balance on top of what I should have paid for is $3194.09 before tax... I bought the car brand new and took very good care of it! only 90k miles on it in 12 yrs, but unfortunately had this problem on it! But when I received the car back after its original repair that it was in just less than 2 weeks later another major problem was wrong with it?????? I find it very hard to believe that it was such good timing or coincidence that the other problem happened as soon as I got it back without it being due to a mistake made in first repair of the timing belt then told by a dealership that quote "YES" the wrist pin was most likely knocked out of place due to cars timing being out of place!....... A mistake was made! Yes that is true! I am not doing this to try, and get money or make enemies! I'm sorry this has happened! I wish it didn't, and avoid this whole big mess, but I payed for a job to be done, and it wasn't done correctly which resulted in me paying an extra $3200 that I should not be held liable for!! but I payed it, and my car is STILL NOT FIXED.......

Review: I bought an [redacted]TypeS Brand new from dealership in 2002, have taken care of this car ever since! Currently has 95k miles on it, and my first problem I've ever had with the car has been around 6 months ago! The timing chain went out! I searched for places til I was told to go to this repair shop which I had the problem fixed for a total bill of $2202.45 and repairer went over the bill with me instructing it needed all these extra parts, and had an extensive list of the parts, some of which I don't understand were even needed towards the original problem! The very day I got it back something was wrong with the idol of my car making it shutoff "WHILE" driving! I took it back the following day! Was told it would be adjusted, and when I got it back it seemed it worked a little better, but was not completely running like it should be normally! I had it for 2 weeks after that then a knocking sound started coming from the motor! Once again I took it back in the garage, and was told it was a wrist pin coming from the bottom end of the motor which would require much more extensive work! I sighed said ok! My car spent a total of 5 months in the garage, and once it was ready to be picked up again I received another lecture and list of all these new parts it needed which lead to 2 more bills of $750.00 and another of $1129.09.. At this point I was I was getting upset, and starting to wonder what's really going on? I was insulted by the receptionist when I said I will have all the money Friday! It was Wed when I picked up the car! She said to me "you mean you have no money you can give us now?" "Your lucky we haven't charged you for your car being here 5 months"? How could they? when they were supposed to be fixing my car! So paid all the money, and left! Once again the VERY NEXT DAY! I had to take it back yet once again, due to BOLTS being FORGOTTEN to be put back in my exhaust manifold holding it up! Went and picked it back up next day, was told cant fix the idol problem! It still shuts off while drivingDesired Settlement: I want my car taken to another garage fixed (ENTIRELY) back to its original running condition with bill sent to previous repair shop! Still a problem on car when I got it back! also want to find out if the previous job that was done was done correctly, and what was responsible for after the original problem the repair shop might have caused on the next problem that received the extra 2 bills of $750, and $1129.09 refunded.. I am willing to leave the original repair bill of $2202.45 paid by me!

Response:

August 8, 2014On July 1, 2014 [redacted] brought his car to us with a loud knocking noise coming from the engine. It was decided that there was a major issue with the lower end of the engine. It could have been a wrist pin coming out of the bottom end of the engine or several other possibilities, no one would know for sure unless the engine was taken out of the car and disassembled. As per [redacted] the engine was removed from the car and we took the engine to a third party machine shop. This company diagnosed what was wrong with the engine and directed [redacted] how to proceed. Several weeks later, [redacted]’s grandfather brought in the old motor from the machine shop and a new/used lower end of an engine. We were instructed to take the parts off the old motor and put them on the new/used lower end of engine and reinstall the engine. We did this and enclosed is the bill for the job.As for the complaint about “getting a lecture” all of our customers that have major engine repair work done here are informed to keep an eye on the antifreeze and engine oil and to please check all fluids regularly. As for the complaint about the receptionist being rude, it is our policy that all repair bills be paid in full at the time you pick up your vehicle, NO CREDIT. The bill owed to us at that time was $1129.09 and $200.00 not paid from a bill incurred in January 2014. This vehicle sat on our lot for several weeks while the other shop had the engine and for [redacted] to make a decision as to what to do with the car. Once we had all the parts it did take some time to work the vehicle back into the garage, due to other customer’s problems and appointments. The bolts did come out of the exhaust. We are not sure if they came loose because they were not tightened correctly or due to the amount of rust on the bolts that they could not be tightened. Either way, the car was brought into the garage, where bolts, new locking nuts and a new exhaust gasket were installed. There was no charge to [redacted] has requested a refund of $750.00. At this time we have no record of a bill for this amount. Please send us a copy of an itemized bill and proof of payment for this amount.[redacted] has also requested a refund for $1129.09. The itemized invoice is for items used to install the engine back in to the car. Oil, antifreeze, gasket sets and sealer are all items used every time an engine is removed and installed. We charged [redacted] 7.3 hours labor when in fact this job should have been charged 17.3 hours labor, thus, [redacted]’s bill should have been $1855.24 instead of $ 1129.09. We feel we were more than generous to [redacted] and his situation and do not feel we should reimburse any money. When [redacted] brought his vehicle to us in July the issue or complaint was a knocking noise coming from the engine, when the vehicle left here there was no knocking noise. The issue or problem was repaired. An appointment has not been made to check an idle or a stalling problem. If [redacted] is having these issues, we will gladly schedule an appointment. If [redacted] or the Revdex.com has any questions, comments or concerns, please call.Sincerely,Curtis *. M, Owner
