You have requested that we update our complaint with a desired resolution. From the choices you provided we would choose both "modification/discontinuation of an advertised claim" and "Other" categories. We would like Alberta New Home Warranty Program (ANHWP) to extend our warranty from five years...

to seven years. When we took possession of our house, we were not informed be either ANHWP or the Builder, that there was a new seven year warranty option on the Building Envelope. The lack of advertising this option at the time we took possession has resulted in us not having 100% coverage offered by ANHWP.To reiterate, our desired resolution is for ANHWP to Provide the Seven Year warranty on the Building Envelope of our house.

The New Home Warranty Insurance (Canada) corporation provides mandatory warranty as legislated by the Provincial Government.  In addition to mandatory warranty we also offer optional products to our Builder Members to help to set them apart from their competitors.  One of those optional products available to our Builder Members is extended building envelope coverage.Extended Building Envelope coverage must be purchased by the Builder Member prior to the possession of the home.
