In response to complaint submitted by *** * *** against Champion Motor Company:Mr*** purchased a Ford Ranger Truck for $4300. The vehicle was sold "as is" with no warranty either expressed or impliedThe signed statement is available for review. Mr*** was
offered the opportunity to have our mechanic complete a diagnostic evaluation at no chargeWe were not able to offer towing service due to the distance from Mr*** residence in UvaldeHe proceeded to have a local individual perform a repair estimate that included multiple items not related to the mechanical operation of the vehicleMr*** was advised to bring vehicle in to our facility for evaluation, but instead chose to pay over $at another location. He did not provide any proof of payment record of repairUnfortunately, since the vehicle was sold at a discounted price, we are unable to offer any payment for services performed at another facility.*** *** Champion Motor Company

I am rejecting this response because: I didn't purchase vehicle at a discounted price. I had a trade in that brought price down from $6,200 to $4,300. Also, I did offer the salesman Mr. [redacted] to fax over the diagnostic reports to him and he stated that he needed the vehicle brought over instead. The items listed were related to the mechanical function of the vehicle because the vehicle would not operate without those items repaired. I was reluctant to have vehicle towed for an expensive towing fee and run the risk of Champion motors refusing to repair once vehicle was inspected at their facility. I am fully aware that the vehicle was sold to me with no warranty and AS IS, but as a customer I was not satisfied with the product after breaking down after one week of purchase. I was placed in a position of inconvenience of not driving the vehicle during the duration of the repair and spent lots of money for repairs. Its clear Champion motors will not compensate me for my troubles, but I don't feel customers should have to experience this inconvenience after trusting the salesman and taking his word that he was selling me a good running vehicle. In addition to these repairs, I am now having transmission problems with this vehicle and will need future repairs to that component.

In response to complaint [redacted] Mr. [redacted] has failed to provide proof of actual payment for any repairs as claimed on the original dispute. As previously stated, the vehicle was sold "as is " with no warranty either expressed or implied. The vehicle traded in was accepted under the same agreement.  We regret that a valued customer is not satisfied with a vehicle purchased, but unfortunately, he chose to have repairs made at another facility instead of allowing us to evaluate any mechanical problems.
