apparently I was not clear in my original complaint I had an appointment with chesterfield tile to rectify work done originally When *** called me on Saturday morning to come and do the work instead of on my appointment day, it was not stated that this was on his time Since the owner had miscalculated the distance between my counter top and the glass shelf, I bought a low arc faucet, then wanted it replace with a taller faucet He also mismeasured the shower door, and put in a taller door so that the existing towel bar on the wall was in the way I paid my bill on time I was told that the work was not complete till the customer was satisfied If *** had only taken the time to call me and discuss my complaints with me, I probably would not be writing this Apparently my money was good enough for them, but customer service was not I would still appreciate a phone call from the owner, and a reprimand to the worker for taking my money when the work should have been covered under the original contract $obviously is too much to keep a customer happy

CTC had a contract with [redacted] at [redacted] to clean and epoxy stain the walls and floor in her master bath.  We scheduled a date and went out to do the cleaning.  We scheduled another date, after the grout dried, to apply the epoxy stain.  When both services were...

We could have changed the color.  Mrs. [redacted] then explained that she wanted half of her money back.  Rick then proceeded to tell her that there is a signed contract for the amount of $850.00 and the work has been completed.  Rick never raised his voice or threatened Mrs. [redacted] in any way.  We are very saddened that Mrs. [redacted] is not happy with her service and we would like to go out and repair the 2 spots that Rick noticed.  Unfortunately, Mrs. [redacted] will not allow us to do that.  As for the refund, she asked for a service and received that service.  We do not feel that Mrs. [redacted] is owed a refund.

The whole floor needing to be replaced in a shower, and the shower retiled after that. After reading a lot of nice reviews for Chesterfield Tile on a popular commercial review website, I was looking forward to getting this smaller job done, because I have two bathrooms at another house that I wanted completely tiled afterward, and this made for a good test before shelling out more money for a bigger job.
First, the good:
1).  The price was good, in my opinion
2).  Everything from initial contact through sales visit and estimate went great.
3).  The two guys that came out to perform the work were nice.
The disappointments:
1).  Chesterfield Tile selected and installed a color for the walls that I didn't agree to.  The shower floor and floor tile are fine though - the problem was just with the walls.  When I called in to point out the issue with the tile color on the walls, that is when things went downhill, and I lost all confidence in their company.  The owner tried various tactics on that call to force me to accept the wrong color including gruffly grumbling "read the contract".  Fact is that contract didn't mention any color - we had agreed verbally on the tile's color, and I took the owner at his word that he would do what we agreed to.  To his credit, but only after a long and ugly argument, he did eventually agree to replace the wall tile at his expense.  My problem was I had lost all confidence in him at that point.  I let them finish up the work at that house, went to their office to pay what I owed, and politely fired them.
2).  (Warp ahead a few days) The people living in that house (I just own it) waited a full week for the grout to dry before using that repaired shower.  Upon first use of the shower, the formerly free-flowing and working drain only let water out very slowly.  Long story short, the Chesterfield Tile workers had dropped, or maybe swept, some grout, tile fragments or other debris into the open shower drain, which almost completely clogged it.  That cost $412.94 to fix (replace clogged pipes/trap).  I have the original clogged parts and pictures of what the plumber found, should the company make the mistake of challenging me, or we end up in court for some reason.  Like I mentioned earlier, I had fired them earlier, and am done with the company forever - which is a shame, because I really need a good tile contractor.

In the beginning of July, Mr. [redacted] was sent his estimate.  Mr. [redacted] then called in and asked if we could do any better with the price.  [redacted], the office manager, informed him that if he paid with cash or check we could give him a 5% discount.  She applied the discount to the...

estimate and resent the estimate to Mr. [redacted]. The estimate is [redacted].  On July 27th, Mr. [redacted] was invoiced, again with the line item in the invoice stating that there was a 5% discount if paid by cash.  Chesterfield Tile will offer a 5% discount if our customers pay by cash instead of credit cards.  We get charged a fee if we process a credit card.  On, July 29th Mr. [redacted] called in to pay his invoice.  [redacted] informed him that  if he was going to pay by credit card, that unfortunately, we were going to have to remove that discount.  Mr. [redacted] was disappointed but agreed to pay his invoice. He proceeded to pay with a total of four credit cards.  Never was any drywall repair discussed or is it mentioned in the estimate or the invoice.  Chesterfield Tile never received another phone call from Mr. [redacted].  We did receive an email asking for us to have Ms. [redacted] call him.  Mrs. [redacted] was not in the office that day, so [redacted] left him a voicemail, which was never returned.  We have [redacted] the estimate and the invoice that was sent and paid by Mr. [redacted].

I contest the claim that [redacted] said it was a 5% discount for cash only. I am aware that credit cards do charge a fee, and I can understand a business offering a "cash" discount, but that was not what I was told at that time. My disappointment with that conversation was the lack of customer service for which [redacted] handled the matter. She did not recognize that there might be a miscommunication and apologize for the confusion. She also responded in a rude and cold manner in regards to the issue, ignoring my concern, and just focusing on receiving payment for the services. The matter had a lot of room for improvement. An apology by the Chesterfield Tile for the matter in which [redacted] spoke to me would be appropriate.Second, I did share my concern for the drywall issue, which is still an issue. That matter also needs to be addressed. The service employee that did the installation should come out to the home to inspect the matter, and fix it as necessary.

I set up an appointment for tile work to be done in a bathroom. I had the appointment on their books for about 2 months. I called the day before to make sure they were coming. Everything was in place. They called me the day they were supposed to come to tell me they had deaths in the family and they were short workers. They set it up for the upcoming Sat. Saturday comes and goes and no one ever showed up and no one called. It was very inconvenient having to move everything out of the bathroom and adjust my schedule for nothing. Terrible experience.

To whom it may concern;
Chesterfield Tile Company's contract with [redacted] was completed 100% and to [redacted] satisfaction. Upon completion [redacted] was invoiced and invoice was paid in full.
CTC has no knowledge of a taller door hitting a towel bar, as a door of standard height was installed and towel bars are installed at 48" height. Furthermore, we had no knowledge of a glass shelf installed at wrong height or a request for a taller faucet.  All hardware was installed per [redacted] specifications.
I can only assume that [redacted] contracted with one of our employees for $40.00 on a Saturday on their personal time to do additional work that has nothing to do with original work completed by CTC. [redacted] has talked to office manager about selling luggage to one of our employees and giving them $40.00.
CTC is a professional company and does not get involved in such issues outside of our contract. We have talked to the employee involved and concluded no misconduct on his part on company time.

The company did not address the issues.  Chesterfield Tile Co was incorrect in response to the situation and was insulting.  The black squares I was referring to were in the center of the basket weave pattern and did not have any veining.  They are also 3/8 of an inch square and could not disappear because the drain holes are smaller than 3/8 of an inch.  I also have a cleaning service, and I used a marble cleaner on the floor using a long sponge mop.  It wasn't until I actually got down on my hands and knees that I could see the problem with the black squares.  I do not have a problem with the marble basket weave part of the tile.  When the man that was sent out on sep. 30 came, he removed the broken and cracked tiles, the tile squares that were not flush with the floor, and put in the black squares that were missing.  He re-grouted the floor, but used the wrong color grout and missed several areas to be re-grouted.  I have pictures to prove this fact.  I had also called the office about a day after the man was sent out, and asked the name of the grout used.  I was told that it was [redacted] perma color.  that grout according to the company rep. does not have a sealer in it.  In his answer, [redacted] states that they used Tec grout or epoxy.  Which one was used? All I am asking is for someone to come back out and finish the grouting on the floor, I don't even care about the color.  But I would also like a signed letter stating that the grout used, and named, does not need to be sealed. He also stated that the man advised me of the cleaning products to be used, and that he cleaned my floor.  That is an absolute fabrication.  Either his men are lying to him, or he is making this up.  If they stand 100% behind their workmanship, why did the lady I spoke with from the office tell me that [redacted] had no intention of responding to me and that I would have to find someone else to do the work, and then she hung up on me.  Those were her exact words.  I repeat my request, that someone come back out to finish the grouting of the shower floor and that [redacted] gives me a signed letter regarding the grout name and that it does not need to be sealed. I also invited [redacted] out to my house to see the shower floor and what a poor job [redacted] had done.  I know that if he had actually seen the floor, he would have someone out there to fix it in no time.  I am tired of being ignored by this company, perhaps they will respond to the Revdex.com, and correct the problem.

Review: I have a contract that states "Clean and Epoxy stain Shower Walls and Labor" with Chesterfield Tile Company, Inc. Rick, the owner of the business gave me a quote of $850. We agreed and the job was started. 6 hours into the first day, the worker(Rodney) said he was called off the job for another job emergency but he said he was told to get the $850 check from me. I gave him the check. That ended up being a big mistake. Rodney came back a couple days later to tell us there was another emergency and he would have to come back another day. He finally came back to spend approximately 1-2 hours and told my husband everything was done but if I had any issues he would take care of it. When I arrived home I found several issues and was not satisfied and called Rick (the owner) to say exactly that and would he please come out and evaluate the issues. Rick came out today(May 5th 2016) and immediately stated everything was as it should and I "was out to screw him out of money and he was done.Anything else sue him". He stormed out of the house and left. That was the most unprofessional person(Rick) that I have seen. He knows that suing him would cost more than I would recover, so he could care less. I just want to make sure no one else gets ripped off by Rick at Chesterfield Tile Company.Desired Settlement: Half of the $850 so I can get someone else to complete the job. Rick was so scary the he is not welcome in my house again.

Fact is that contract didn't mention any color - we had agreed verbally on the tile's color, and I took the owner at his word that he would do what we agreed to.

Review: [redacted] MADE MANY ERRORS IN MEASURING MY BATHROOM FOR THE REMODEL. tHE WORKMEN DID NOT ARRIVE TILL AFTER 9 AM, AND THEN LEFT BY 3:30, STATING THAT THE OWNER KEPT THEM IN THE OFFICE. tHEY ALSO HAD TO GO TO THE STORE FOR DIFFERENT ITEMS THAT WERE IN THE CONTRACT, BUT THEY WERE UNAWARE OF. THE LAST TIME THE WORKMAN CAME OVER TO CORRECT SOME DETAILS, AND CHANGE THE FAUCET , I WAS CHARGED EXTRA. I CALLED TO COMPLAIN, BUT THE OWNER DID NOT RETURN MY CALLS.

ALL I WANTED WAS MY 40$ BACK, OR AT LEAST A PHONE CALL AS I WAS TOLD THAT THE JOB WAS NOT COMPLETED TILL THE CUSTOMER WAS SATISFIED.Desired Settlement: A CALL FROM THE OWNER, AND A CHECK FOR THE 40$ I GAVE THE WORKMAN.
