Review: On April 21, 2013, my husband and I purchased a 2006 Jayco Jayflight 26 BHS travel trailer from Chiefs Rv, vin [redacted] We purchased the trailer for $13,000 and put $1500 as a down payment. The following Monday, we received a call from the sales department that they were able to get the financing, but needed another $495 for the bank acquisition fee. I brought in a check and scheduled a time for the walk through and to pick up the trailer. At the walk-through, when he showed me the sewage dump, some brown liquid came out and he said that was weird, that it should have been cleaned out. He also said one of the propane tanks were filled free of charge, but could not verify that for me when asked. He also said the battery wasn't brand new, but that it was in good working order. He also showed us the hot water heater and indicated it could run on both gas or electric, as indicated in the model profile on the Jayco website. Our first trip camping was that weekend. The first night our battery power completely died. The next day, a friendly neighboring camper came over to try and help us figure out the problem. He tested the battery and there was no voltage. He took the battery off and it was completely dry of distilled water. We had to leave camp to purchase a new battery from Les Schwab for $120. I called Chiefs and left a message, since they were closed. On our way home from our trip, the pigtail for the trailer lights didn't work, leaving us with no brake lights or blinkers. When we returned from camping, I called Chiefs RV and spoke to a woman in the repair department. She said she wasn't sure how to handle it and transferred us to our sales person. He transferred me back to her. Long story short, I didn't hear back for a week. Eventually, the pigtail was replaced and they gave us a 2nd battery. Later, we realized the water heater had been replaced with a gas only heater, our toilet leaks, and only 1 burner on the stove ignites. Chiefs RV refuses to fix these issues.Desired Settlement: I would like Chiefs Rv to put in the gas/electric water heater that is supposed to be in this trailer and that they led us to believe we purchased. I would also like them to fix our leaking toilet and stove and pay for an independent inspection of the entire trailer, since I don't believe they inspected everything as they claim.

My name is [redacted] the owner of Chiefs RV Center in [redacted], WAY. I was surprised to receive this complaint from Mrs., [redacted]l concerning the pre-owned RV she purchased from us. I have researched the matter and found that our company did in fact advertise this RV to have a gas/electric water heater in it. The mistake was made by the person who booked the unit into our inventory whenWe purchased it from another party. The RV was originally equipped with a gas/electric device, which had been removed and a gas only unit put in its place. I regret this has happened, and I am prepared to replace the electric device that makes this water heater work on gas or electric at no charge to the customer. As for the other items the unit was sold as is following the lawsOf our state in regard to used equipment. That document was shown to and signed by the customer. We will require the customer to sign a form indicating that this adjustment is a one time adjustment and will not affect any other repair or parts in the future and will be under the as/is agreement they signed. I have left a voice mail with the customer to call me and make arrangements to have this situation resolved. I am presently waiting for the call back. I hope this resolves this issue and offer our apology for the oversight on our part.
