Review: Chubb overcharged me for insurance for 5 (five!) years. The house in question is in [redacted] The issue: they did not credit my account for the presence of a hydrant within 1000 feet of the residence. According to the agent, they have acknowledged that they have mis-charged me.

The Company has yet to contact me directly, and has not paid me the return premium owed. At first, they claimed they needed to research the issue - fine. That's done. Then they said they need to research what penalty payment is due me based on [redacted] State statues. Again, within reason, this is fine.

I have done all the research to prove their error and the amount owed. I sent them the details on the hydrant. I also sent them the exact statues within [redacted] law for failure to pay overdue monies to insurees. I have also sent them an exact calculation (with spreadsheet backing it up) showing the calculation back payments and penalties.Desired Settlement: They need to pay me the back due monies, along with the interest penalty as stipulated by [redacted] law. Even a phone call acknowledging that this issue is in process would be appreciated. I have been a loyal customer to Chubb on all my insurance needs for more than a decade - it would seem that some human contact might be warranted.

Review: Outstanding payable due as a result of injury at location of insured. Several conversations, mailings and clarifications resulted in non payment of final disbursement of monies paid as copayment to physician. Resulted in collections due to medical center and non responsiveness in final reimbursement of monies.Desired Settlement: Refund in form of check

Review: I worked with my long-time broker [redacted] to identify insurance for home I purchased in Nov '13. We had three contenders after asking for quotes based on the home characteristics from 3 carriers. They were all within a few grand of each other for this higher end home. We went with Chubb based on its reputation and that it had the best price. The premium was to be $6k for the year (I'll use round numbers for the sake of simplicity). [redacted], an independent broker, apparently had to work thru [redacted] in [redacted] to get policy, I later came to find out. There were problems from the start. Chubb initially did a policy for a start date 1 mo too early (10/13/13). They canceled this one as of 11/13/13 and then had a seperate policy starting 11/13/13 to run to 11/13/14. They kept sending me bills for $500 for this first policy for several months despite multiple phone calls to both brokers and Chubb to get it removed as it was an obvious error (closing was 11/13). Then appraiser came from Chubb and he calculated a ridiculous premium of 10k more than what we already paid (16k/year). Chubb failed to send notice. This was extremely different than other quotes for same coverage (and I now have [redacted] policy with similar coverage for 6k). As soon as I could (in reasonable time frame) I sought out different carrier as I was not agreeable to 16k premium! They in fact covered the home for a previous owner in past so they knew the home already. The cancelation date for the policy was 2/24/14, as fast as I could get other coverage. It is unfair to be that drastically off from initial quote, esp when they prev covered the home, and when other carriers are at 6-8k premiums, and keep me at mercy of their new price. According to this logic they could claim I owe them 120k premium/yr after their 'appraisal' (its not 3rd party appraisal) and then before I can cancel I'm looking at 10k/month x 3 mo of 'coverage that's already happened.'Desired Settlement: They now expect that I pay 11/13/13-2/24/14 premium at their 'updated' 16k annual premium = ~4k. They refunded 2k prev but now say I owe $200. They refuse to honor their initial quote of $6k/yr.

I never agreed to $16k prem and expect Chubb to reimburse me another 2.5k. 3 mo of cov at agreed-to price of 6k/yr=1.5k premium. 6k paid up-front in 10/13, 2k already reimbursed, so 2.5k owed to me. I already paid the new carrier for the year so I would like to recoup my overpayment to Chubb as soon as possible. Already contact both brokers and Chubb and Chubb refuses to reimburse the 2.5k.

Review: We signed up with Chubb Insurance on November thru our agent [redacted]). On December 2014, we were sent a letter of from Chubb that they were not going to accept our homeowners and auto policies due to having claims in the past. I was forced to find auto coverage with [redacted] and homeowners from [redacted].After CHUBB cancelled us couple of months later they billed me $258.00 for the auto insurance. I called and e-mailed my agent [redacted] to call CHUBB and asked them to stop billing us since we were cancelled.Agent [redacted] said he would take care of it.Again, the following month I received another bill from CHUBB. I called CHUBB billing and wanted to know why they kept billing since I was cancelled in December. They said they reinstated me as a courtesy. I said why they did not sent me any letters? He said they do not send letters to insureds. None of it made any sense to me. I called my agent again and he said he was going to take care of it. Today, I received a collection letter from [redacted] requesting payment. I have proof of the cancellation letter, this is a scam by CHUBB to bill me for something that was cancelled.Desired Settlement: I would like CHUBB to stop billing me and have their [redacted] collection company to cease their collection against us. I have proof of the cancellation notice by Chubb and e-mails going back and forth that their insurance agent would take care of it.I want them to send me a letter that they will no longer be charging me for something that they cancelled. I am so tired of spending hours dealing with this issue. If Chubb and [redacted] bill me one more time, I will be suing both companies.

Review: My car was left with valet service at [redacted] on 6/18/14. The weather was rainy and dark and my vehicle is black. The next morning, 6/19/14 damages were noticed on my vehicle by my children. On 6/21 I saw more damages in the sunlight. The bumper had black markings on the drivers side, the fog light was busted, and the lisc plate was bent. I immediately called [redacted] and reported it. I spoke to a [redacted] and [redacted] and a [redacted] from the dates of 6/21 - 6/25. They indicated the report would be filed and sent to Chubb. [redacted] contacted me on 7/1 and filed the claim. I heard nothing from [redacted] or Chubb until I contacted [redacted] and [redacted] on 7/30/14. I learned [redacted] was let go and the file was forgotten. 7/31/14, [redacted] from Chubb contacted me. We spoke on 8/3/14 and she is denying responsibility and will not escalate the matter for me. She was very rude indicating the damages were done outside of [redacted]. They purposely did not contact me immediately, have attempted to escape liability on coverage they are paid to by [redacted], and their business ethics are questionable in regards of their delay to contact me and not doing the right thing. This was an attempt to ignore me in hopes I would go away. Big giant vs consumer and unacceptable.Desired Settlement: Chubb Insurance to take responsibility for Insurance they are paid for by [redacted] Hotel and fix the damages to my vehicle.

Review: Chubb over valued the rebuild price of my home, as now discovered by switching insurance companies, and they refuse to refund the difference, based on the correct valuation, they made a fortune in high premium charges and need to stop ripping people off and issue me a refund.Desired Settlement: A refund of the difference between what they over charged and my present property insurance premium. $12,000, but will accept $10,000

Review: I contracted for a home owner's policy on a vacation home for $2,500/year. Chubb then raised the price a few months later to $5,000/year. I immediately changed carriers, never authorizing or accepting the change in premium. I was able to find coverage for $1,700/year. They are still billing me for an alleged premium due even though they did a "bait and switch" on the initial premium.Desired Settlement: I'd like this to go away and written apology.

Response:

I'm informed that Chubb has agreed to send me a re-Fund in that matter that I complained about. Assuming that does happen, no further action should be necessary on this complaint and it can be withdrawn.

I have been with chubb for over 30 yrs. In all those yrs, I had I claim in 2013. Even though I had mole ins., they denied my claim of mole and rot. I had to engage an atty. who wrote a letter and 3 days letter I received a check. To me, this is unacceptable. Since april 10,2015, I have cancelled all 3 policies with this co, cancelled the e-payments which were taken directly out of my bank acct, and followed that up with 3 phone calls. Yet as of today,May 15, 2015, Chubb is still extracting money from my checking acct. I have called customer service 3 times, yet I am not able to reach the people I need to . This is so poor, unethical, and I feel duped.
