To Whom it May Concern,
Our customer purchased her Chevy Impala on 2/20/This vehicle was sold with a free day/mile warranty which covers the
motor, axle, and transmissionwe pay 1/and the customer pays 1/2, the work must be done in our shop. Our customer came in about weeks after she purchased the vehicle complaining of the temperature gauge reading above the halfway mark. We inspected the vehicle carefully and found no evidence of the motor over heating or leaking of any sort. We are very conscious and concerned with overheating problems, one because we like to keep our customers happy and two because we are responsible for half of the repairs if its within the warranty period and three because we have this vehicle financed and do not want to be left with a damaged vehicle and a customer who isn't paying
The vehicle was send directly to *** *** *** in Long Beach for further inspection. With the aid of their special equipment they advised us there were no overheating problems. We advised our customer to pay close attention to any overheating problems or signs (temperature gauge moving into the red, smell of coolant, etc) and to call us immediately if this happened.
Our customer returned to our business at the end of April, 2014, with complaints that her car was overheatingWe specifically asked her if the needle moved into the redShe said yes. We asked our customer to leave the car with us for repairsOur customer refused to leave the vehicle, saying she would have no ride to workWe explained to her if she kept driving the vehicle she could do extreme damage to it and that it was very important that she left it with usShe refusedOur customer asked for a loaner vehicle but our insurance policy does not allow us to loan vehicles. Our customer then asked to trade her vehicle in but she did not have enough equity to trade due to the fact that she just purchased her vehicle months prior. We explained to her if she had cash to put with her vehicle we could tradethat the smartest thing for her to do would be to leave it for repairs. Before she left that day we cautioned her not to operate her vehicle if she thought it was overheating. We still ask our customer to bring the vehicle and leave it for a reasonable time to diagnose and fix the problem
Chuck Ryan Cars, Inchas been operating continuously since June of on the same corner in Long Beach. We are family owned and operated and commend ourselves on our repeat business. We try very hard to help solve our customers problems even after the warranty has expired. If there is any other information you need from us please do not hesitate to call or email

January 13, 2015In response to Ms. Victoria Dee [redacted]:ID # 10377758 Ms. Clopton,Ms. [redacted] purchased a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee on September16, 2014.  At the time of the sale weagreed to repair/replace “tires, rotors and belt” (as per...

contract). This workand “we owe” statement was completed the following day on September 17,2014.  This information is supported bythe fact she didn’t mention these items in her complaint.  Ms. [redacted]s vehicle was purchased with alimited 50/50 warranty: systems covered- motor, transaxle, and internallubricated parts only; customer pays half; 30 days or 1000 miles, whichevercomes first (signed & attached). Keep in mind the loan was done on September 16, 2014.  The first complaint we heard from Ms.[redacted] was by a hand delivered letter on January 6, 2015 (attached) which was3 days after we repossessed another vehicle she has financed with us which wasdelinquent. We made an exception and released the repossessed vehicle the sameday with a partial payment, instead of the amount due.  There is an error in her stated purchase price and the stateddesired settlement made by Ms. [redacted]. The vehicle purchase price is $8,200 and the down payment (what sherefers to as cash equity) is $3,200.  As of today, 1-13-15, both of her vehicles aredelinquent.  Even though we didn’t agree tofix the hood supports (what she refers to as hatch struts) at the time of thesale, this is something that we will take care of once she brings both accountscurrent, along with an owner’s manual (demanded in attached letter). We always take care of small things for our good customerswho keep their account current. We have been on the same corner for 40 yearswith many repeat customers. Chuck Ryan Cars has sold over 15,000 vehicles anddo our best to keep our customers happy. Please let us know if there is anything else we can provide or do for you.  Sincerely,[redacted]

As the customer stated, she purchased the vehicle 6 months ago on March 7, 2016. Her free warranty is 30 days or 1000 miles whichever comes first; motor, axle and transmission; we pay half- customer pays half. The customers warranty expired 30 days after she bought the vehicle on April 6, 2016.   The customer sends us letters with her payments. She drops off them off when we are closed (hours of operation: Mon-Sat- 8:30am-6:00pm).  In the letters she does not ask for help, only states she has issues with her vehicle. We have tried to reach the customer on many occasions. In her letters she says her phone is disconnected. The customer doesn’t respond back to our letters to her. Therefore we cannot communicate with her through phone or by mail.    We always try to satisfy our customers. Which is evident by the fact we have been in business on the same corner for 42 years. We have entered into a binding contract with this customer.  She purchased the vehicle with a free limited warranty and acknowledged this by signing numerous times.  I can attach the signed warranty agreement, contract, letters to and from the customer if you would like.   As of now she is 46 days past due at $561.25. Her payments are biweekly and she is due again on 9/16/16 for $175, which will make her past due $736.25. The customer has only paid about 80% of the contractual payments.   As you can see, we are far past the warranty. The customer is past due.  All of the letters from the customer states she has had problems with the vehicle, but has never asked for assistance or stated the issues with the vehicle. We told her through mail to bring the car back, let us look at it and discuss the account, none of which have been done. Her only communication with us is when she leaves envelopes (letter and payment) at the door while we are closed.  The letters from the customer state she is unable to make her payments as contracted because her wages are being garnished by 2 other companies.   We are willing to work with her on the past due payments of $561.25 but we are not willing to refund her money. Simply, we do not refund money. Maybe the serious delinquency with her account and her two garnishments may be the real issue here.

The customer purchased her vehicle on 3/7/16. The vehicle came with a limited warranty- 30 days or 1000 miles, 50/50 warranty, work must be done with us in our shop. The selling price was $4995. The account is currently pasted due 35 days.  The customer pays her car note with money order...

and most of the time it is at the front door in an envelope with a letter attached. The last few letters have explained her vehicle was broken but never gave any details or requested assistance. We have requested numerous times she come in and discuss her account with us and has not done so as of now. Her warranty expired on 4/7/16. We do not give refunds. We would be happy to trade with the customer (considering there is equity in the vehicle or another form of down payment) if she can get her account current.  We have supporting documents for our response. We have been in business for over 41 years and try very hard to make every happy. We pride ourselves in repeat business and have sold over 15,000 vehicles!
