Clarion Hotel Lake Erie Reviews (2)

Review: I reserved a room on Feb 6th 2014 for the weekend on April 11th 2014. (Confirmation [redacted]).On 2/11 at 11:38AM, I received a phone call from [redacted] stating she wanted to move my room to an adjacent hotel. I told her that that was unacceptable due to the fact I had already reserved a room. On 2/13 at 3:25PM I received a voice mail from [redacted] again for the same reason. She stated to call her to discuss. I called back at 3:56PM on the same day and received [redacted]'s voice mail stating the same, that they do not have my authorization to move my reservation; and to call me back. I attempted contact again at 5:38PM on the same day. I called again on 2/14 at 6:01PM as I never heard back from [redacted].I, again didn't hear anything back from the hotel. [redacted] finally contacted me on 2/19 at 4:22PM. He stated the reservation was cancelled. Cancellation number [redacted]. He stated to call him back to discuss. I Called him back at 4:34 and he has not contacted be back.Desired Settlement: I would like to speak to a representative regarding this matter and figure out why they cancelled my reservation. I just want my reserved room that that my credit card guaranteed and the hotel representative promised me.

Response:

In response to the above mentioned case numbers (both are shared incidents). Guests had reservations with the hotel for an upcoming convention. Guests did not reserve their rooms according to the policy outlined by the group coordinator that required convention registration before making any room accommodations. Guests called the hotel upon several occasions using profanity and using demeaning tone to several employees. It was the determination of the group coordinator and the hotel that these two individuals shall not be permitted to attend the convention or stay at the hotel. The hotel reservations were cancelled by the owner. Reservations will not be reinstated. Personal credit card information was never shared with another property. Hotel reserves the right to cancel rooms per the Pennsylvania Innkeeper’s

Response:

Upon reading the response from the hotel, it is in fact false what they're alleging. I never once used profane language. Furthermore, [redacted] was the coordinator and I only had voice to voice contact with her once. She had told me to call her back. Knowing that she was the point of contact, I wouldn't have talked to anyone else regarding this matter. I left her a voice mail stating that I had complied with the registration request. I had registered on 2/13 at 5:33PM. I have the confirmation email attached to prove it. In addition, I contacted the run coordinator, [redacted], on that same Friday, and Saturday. Nobody returned any of my phone calls. I have the one in bound voice mail from [redacted] then the one from [redacted] on the day my reservation was cancelled. Both said to call them back, which I did, and they never returned my phone calls. The employees that represent the Clarion, the run coordinator [redacted], and the Drenched Fur Committee are singling me out and I honestly do feel discriminated against. Their allegations are false as seen by my documentation to comply in good faith with their requests. If this doesn't get resolved, I may be forced to file an additional complaint against the Drenched Fur Committee for these serious, yet untrue allegations. I have all my inbound documentation, and I would request that the hotel supply copies of the voice mails that I left. Generally, if a voice mail is threatening, demeaning, or profane in any such manor to cancel a reservation and ban someone from an event, it would be assume that they would have saved it.

Review: On February 6th., 2014 I called the Clarion Bel-Aire Hotel and Conference Center in Erie, Pennsylvania to reserve two rooms each with two double beds. I received a verbal confirmation and slso a confirmation via e-mail containing the confirmation numbers, [redacted] and [redacted]. The dates for my reservations were April, 11th 2014 thru April, 13th 2014. Since I have placed my reservation the hotel has canceled my reservations twice. The first time the hotel explained that there was exclusive event going on that weekend that I was required to be registered for in order to honor my reservation at the hotel. After expalaining that I was upset and that I was under the impression that I was the only one allowed to cancel my reservation, the representative at the hotel reinstated my reservation. On February 13, 2014 the hotel left a voicemail on my cell phone explaining that they were going to move my reservation to another hotel (which would involve sharing my credit card information with another hotel without my permission). I called today, February 14th, 2014, to confirm my reservation (again), and the representative said that it was canceled by a supervisor. I've tried contacting a supervisor regaurding their call but the hotel has since been ignoring all attempts to contact them and the representatives and the front desk will not reinstate my reservation.Desired Settlement: I would like my reservation to reinstated. I will not accept a reservation at a different hotel.
