Review: In April 2013, I dropped off a "Marvel Milestones: Zombie Spider-Man & Mary Jane Statue" (Retail $124.99) to be repaired at Classic Comics. The repair was for an arm that broke off of the statue. I was told that the repair would take no more than a few weeks. For the next year and a half I have been constantly calling the store but I've been told that it will be repaired "any day now." In November of 2014, I was told that the repair was completed and I was charged $74 on my [redacted] for the repair. For the next few months, I was told that he would get it shipped to me "the next day," but it never arrived. I was even told that it was shipped and I missed the delivery, however the post office had no record of this shipment, I never received a tracking number, nor did I receive the usual "sorry we missed you" note on my door. Additionally, I have a parcel locker that the post office has access to, so I did not need to be home for it to be shipped. I called the comic book shop owner and after telling him that there is no record of him ever shipping it, I was told that I was wrong and he hung up. A week later, in March 2015, I received the statue in the mail, which was left in my parcel locker. The statue was broken even more than when I had dropped it off. The arm was still broken off and now additional pieces were broken. I called the owner of Classic Comics and he accused me of breaking the statue or the post office breaking the statue. After I denied it, he also told me that the statue was fine "because he had been displaying it in his store for over a year." I have photo documentation of both the broken statue and the shipping box. The shipping box was in perfect condition and not damaged during transit. I also never gave him permission to display my statue in his store. What I believe happened was that after the statue was repaired, he put it on display in his store for over a year until it was damaged once again and he then shipped me back the broken pieces.Desired Settlement: [redacted] the owner of Classic Comics, refuses to refund any amount. At the very minimum, I feel he should refund the $74 repair cost he charged me. However, since he caused additional damage to my statue while he displayed it without my permission, I feel that he should additionally refund the $124.99 retail price of the statue.
